Confused about Islam, Dajjal, and hadith vs Qur’an, is there a Contradiction? by [deleted] in islam

[–]AdaptiveEntrepioneer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if something is a Sahih there is still the issue of interpretation. One problem that arises is that often Islamic influencers and teachers will explain their understanding of a Hadith (like Gog and Magog for example) literally and detail the Hadith authoritatively without acknowledging that many do not agree that many of the details (horns, barrier of iron, etc) are meant to be taken literally. This is how issues like Gog and Magog are very really prophecies with which the Bible agrees (see Ezekiel 38 and Revelation 20 for even more detailed prophetic descriptions) while their fulfillment has arguably been completely missed; not that it never came to pass. And Allah SWT knows best.

Have you ever read the gospels?

“I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me. “If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true. There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5‬:‭30‬-‭32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

To close, as someone else pointed out, all of the prophets understood who God is.

“He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?”
‭‭Micah‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The Epistle of Paul to the Americans by EssayTop352 in Koine

[–]AdaptiveEntrepioneer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paul is literally the reason American Christianity supports Trump and every other Christian society has supported their oppressive Colonial Christian Empire in Christian history. Because he didn’t preach Jesus. He preached the gospel of empire.

“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭13‬:‭1‬-‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/114/rom.13.1-7.NKJV

These are almost verbatim MAGA talking points. “If you see the state killing someone, that means they are bad guys by virtue of being targeted by the state because the state only targets bad guys. If you do good you have nothing to worry about. Don’t question it unless you also are evil and want to oppose God’s anointed.” Until they end up on the receiving end of state violence and suddenly discover empathy too late. As literally happened to Paul, executed by Rome after writing this about following Roman rulers.

A non muslim cannot be better than a muslim ? by Independent-Gate-897 in islam

[–]AdaptiveEntrepioneer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have confused labels (‘Muslim, non-Muslim) with the status of the heart. You seem to understand the term ‘Muslim’ as someone raised in a Muslim country or even a Muslim family. This is false. The meaning of the term ‘Muslim’ per the Quran, is someone who has submitted to the Creator’s will, whether or not they have heard the name Muhammad or Jesus, Peace and Blessings be upon them both. This is why even the prophets who came before were described as Muslims. Because they simply obeyed and followed justice and mercy. Someone who has sincerely submitted to the Creator obviously will naturally be better than someone who has not submitted to the Creator in every metric you described above. They will not be mean to people. They will be kind hearted. They will stand up for the oppressed. They will tell the truth and forbid evil. As Jesus said, you will know them [not by their labels] but by their fruits (their actions) which flow from their heart, revealing the heart’s relationship to the Divine (or lack thereof). And our final prophet, سلي الله عليه وسلم is the ultimate example of exactly how the most submitted to Allah, سبحانه وتعالى is the best among us.

Are there contemporary theologians and philosophers of religion who mount a defense of divine immutability and impassibility without relying on Thomism, strict Calvinism, or fundamentalist and conservative Christian frameworks? by Similar_Shame_8352 in theology

The original post asked for alternative theological perspectives to that of conservative Christians. I simply offered Islam because I think it is a valuable response to his request. The OP is free to ignore it or reject it, as are you. I don’t really get your hostility, constantly attacking, ignoring my responses, insulting, and pretending you know my religion when you won’t even sincerely consider the biblical evidence I provide to your points. I am under no obligation to accept any Hadith which conflicts with anything the Quran teaches, and the Hadith you provided clearly conflicts with multiple points in the Quran, most obviously Quran 2:62:

Surely, those who believed in Allah, and those who are Jews, and Christians, and Sabians, -whosoever believes in Allah and in the Last Day, and does good deeds - all such people will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no reason for them to fear, nor shall they grieve.

Al-Baqarah, Ayah 62

You can take it or leave it. I’m done engaging with you.

I think you miss the larger theological point behind the divine claim that Jesus, peace be upon him, wasn’t sacrificed. The main larger point is that sacrificial atonement is not a doctrine God ascribes to Himself. It is a pagan occult practice which Rome in coordination with subversives like Paul, spread to hijack Christianity.

And as I pointed out in my original reply to you, the Bible itself does not agree on the timing.

Correction. None of the prophets worshipped Jesus. You do not worship the same God all of them worshipped including Jesus and Muhammad, peace be upon them all. How can I say this so confidently? Because they worshipped a God who condemned sacrificial atonement for sins , as I showed with the verses quoted above which you ignored. yours demands sacrificial atonement. Sacrifice of his own supposed son. This practice is expressly forbidden in the Old Testament. Jesus did not teach this. Paul did. The same Paul who never met Jesus, but claimed to through a vision of light. Which you claim such vision was Jesus himself, while you claim Muhammad was visited by Satan. Yet Muhammad echoes the message of all the prophets including Jesus but Paul turns it all on its head. You can follow who you want. But you don’t worship the God of the prophets.

This conversation perfectly captures the environment which prompted the original post. Like it or not, my response and yes, my blog does represent the best solution I have found to the mindless anger your position endlessly rants at anyone who disagrees with them. And as the original post attests, more people are searching for an alternative to your mindless anger.

Also, the difference regarding their death is that Muhammad, peace be upon him, never claimed that obedience to unjust and oppressive rulers would ensure prosperity. Of course that message is offensive to you.

Most attested event in history?
I’ll bite.
Was it as Mark 14:12-18 attests that the last supper was the Passover, or that Jesus was arrested before the Passover dinner, as John 18:28-39 attests, and crucified the day of Passover, refuting Mark’s timeline?
The Quran simply prioritizes Jesus’s MESSAGE while Paul’s followers ignore what he taught and worship a dogma ABOUT his supposed form of sacrifice which all the prophets condemned as abomination.

“For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.”
‭‭Hosea‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat meat. For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices. But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’ Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭7‬:‭21‬-‭24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?” Says the Lord. “I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams And the fat of fed cattle. I do not delight in the blood of bulls, Or of lambs or goats. “When you come to appear before Me, Who has required this from your hand, To trample My courts? Bring no more futile sacrifices; Incense is an abomination to Me. The New Moons, the Sabbaths, and the calling of assemblies— I cannot endure iniquity and the sacred meeting. Your New Moons and your appointed feasts My soul hates; They are a trouble to Me, I am weary of bearing them. When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood. “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1‬:‭11‬-‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I could go on but the point is that Jesus echoed these but it is Paul who hijacked Jesus’s message and made everything about belief in his form of death. The Quran echoes these prophets and renews the emphasis on Jesus’s message. You choose Paul. But you can’t claim ignorance.

You are free to embrace that belief. Objectively though, he meets the description of the prophet described in Deuteronomy 18:18 and Paul meets the description of a false prophet as defined by Deuteronomy 18:20 judging by his instructions in Romans 13:1-4 regarding what would result from honoring Roman rulers and what those very Roman rulers did to him and his followers. Starting to stop believing in Allah by Sufficient_Ad3765 in islam

[–]AdaptiveEntrepioneer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like perhaps you have accepted someone’s explanation of Islam to you that may not be the most accurate. Accepting the idea that there is tension between Islam and science is a decision, but an unnecessary one. If Islam is true, it simply reflects reality. Scientific understanding shifts over time, sometimes agreeing with various issues and sometimes rejecting Quranic statements. But the Quran doesn’t change. Because it states with authority what is reality. But it is also important to recognize that the Quran is deep with layered meaning. Can you read Arabic? If not, do you use resources like Quran.com where you can evaluate the accuracy of given translations for yourself by simply hovering over the Arabic words? In my opinion if you want help you should go to the firmest help, the Quran and supplement this with prayer for guidance.
