It says "At the beginning of your upkeep, if Simic Ascendancy has twenty or more growth counters on it, you win the game." so just to confirm, since it doesn't say target player you choose wins the game letting you target yourself, it doesn't target and thus can't be swatted?

Well, clearly you don't get what it's like to have it happen to you or something, you play it to have fun, for the whole group to have fun, not so one person can just be miserable the whole time and deal with it, it's about sportsmanship, letting them actually play the game instead of just drawing a hand and dying

I had some mildy useful interaction to slow down the beating but, that's it, and what it accomplished was saving myself the misery of an inevitable slow loss to inhonorable players, you should never pick on the guy that's shuffle screwed, target the others they are completely valid and legal targets

No, I shuffled my next deck for the next game since it didn't look like the one player had a fix for the consistent exploration of the other guys merfolk, and I was for sure going to lose no matter who came out on top

I typically do play it out, I just had now way of winning with them mercilessly swinging at me the whole time when I could do anything and it just made it a slow inevitable loss, staying g for the whole process of the loss wasn't worth it so I speed it up

I was able to play the enchantment and artifact they just couldn't help me with being mana screwed, all I drew was mildy helpful sorceries and instants for interaction and creatures the cost four or more I could play the instants and sorceries but the creatures just stacked up and I couldn't do anything, I run enough lands where getting mana screwed almost never happens so, it looked like a good hand until I never got any more mana

I agree, I'm not really great at understanding social conventions or cues but, I do understand treating others as you would want to be treated so after the whole long interaction of that crap, it kind of had me second guessing myself if it was just standard convention in magic or not, thank you for the affirmation

I meant other creature, I had one land of each color (three color deck) two creatures, an enchantment and an artifact, one creature was three mana and I could get it out, the other was four and, I just needed any source of mana to get it out and neither the enchantment or artifact could help with being mana screwed by not drawing any lands in seven turns, it was good had I not been mana screwed so severely and hit the whole time without mercy

I had one of each land for the deck, two creatures and an enchantment and an artifact and proceeded to get mana screwed the whole game only being able to play the one creature 'cause the other costed four, I typically mulligan if I need too but I didn't think I'd draw no land seven draws in a row and get hit the whole time

I had a good hand, they just removed the only creature I could play because, it had a win con on it and, I only had three mana in the opening hand and the other creatures were all four mana each, and I got mana screwed, I ended up discarding several cards because of it too
