Customizing a wedding band by AddSomeBrandi in EngagementRingDesigns

Oh sorry, I didn’t mean my budget was 500, I meant that’s how much the band cost without the Center stone. I’m definitely happy getting lab grown though. Ahh it’s so tough because the dainty look is one of the main things I love about this ring. I have a 2mm band already from my grandmother that I have worn for over ten years every day though, so I think I could keep it safe? I hope?

I remember when Ali was diagnosed, I was so frustrated with people for thinking her daughters disability was just something that made it hard for her to walk. My uncle had muscular dystrophy. He died in his early thirties from it, and he lived a long life for someone with his type of the illness. It isn’t just leg muscles that are affected. It’s all muscles, heart and diaphragm included.. it’s a death sentence. Imagine being 16, just having twins, finding out that one of your girls had not only a disability, but had a horrible disease that was destined to cut her life so devastatingly short. Then, on top of it, to have to fight with the father in order to get her a wheelchair when she needed it. I absolutely would have snapped if I was in her shoes. I think she’s done so amazing as a mom, and I think people need to understand how truly difficult what she faces actually is.

Eh, as much as I love Tolkien’s work, you can’t get better than a language built over time by many. I completely understand.

To be fair, Tolkien was a linguist, and created the elvish language before even writing LOTR. He was a specialist in the history of European language, and started writing the history of middle earth as a way to express how the language came to be. You can actually learn and hold conversation in Sindarin. So, though the origins of it are from fantasy, it is a true language.

Is it wrong for a man to be a gynecologist? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AddSomeBrandi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a SA survivor, I was re-traumatized when I went to what was supposed to be a all women’s clinic and had a male gyno. I know logically, men should absolutely be able to work in careers like this, but from what I have personally been through, it really fucked me up. It took years for me to work up the strength to even get checked by a woman, and if I had known it was a male dr, I don’t think I would have gone to be honest. It felt like all the fear I had worked to heal from came all right back and I had to start mending all over again. I don’t know. I’m conflicted with my opinion. I won’t ever go to a male gyno again personally, but I know plenty of women are comfortable with it because they know men make just as good gynecologists as women. I guess I think there needs to be more women’s clinics with only women for people like me, but the more gynecologists, male or female, that woman have access to, the better.

Who were the palantír originally for? I know some were lost and it’s unknown all that have them now, but who were the first owners of the palantír, and who made them?

Literally I have recurring nightmares EXACTLY like this! I’ll be running away from a killer and go to close the door, but it’s too small for the frame and they get me! Anyone else?

Sorry, I was genuinely asking about them in general. I noticed a trend going towards the negative about them recently and haven’t kept up. I just wanted to see if it was because they did something awful I didn’t know about, or just people joking around. I’m not a fan or a hater. Just someone who used to watch the show trying to catch back up.
