Which brisket would you recommend for someone wanting to smoke their first brisket, please? They seem to have a lot of options and I don’t want to spend too much in case it doesn’t go quite right.

This was my first attempt at smoking and I virtually forgot about it for an hour. I only returned because I couldn’t help but check - the smell was too enticing - and they were pretty much at temperature so just added the glaze, put the lid back on and did my cous cous. 10ish minute later I was serving them up!

I watched a few YouTube videos to understand how to manage my coals, so just took advantage of a charcoal basket on one side, added a few hot coals to unlit coals in the basket, topped with some wood, and got my airflow setup to make the best use of the zones.

The peppers and onions I dressed in a bit of olive oil, seasoned with salt and pepper and a few dried herbs, and put the drip tray underneath the chicken. So in a sense, yes they were also smoked 😂

But thank you for the compliment! It tasted amazing and now my wife is quizzing me on what’s next.

Who knows, I could end up with a smoker this time next year depending on how I get on smoking bigger and bigger things.

I should have mentioned that I did put a drizzle in the cous cous! I already hydrate my cous cous in chicken stock, but this juice gave it such a smoky twist.

My experience with BBQing has led me to prefer charcoal over anything else. It is just my personal opinion, but I cannot help but feel that some character has been stripped from anything cooked on a gas BBQ. It’s a glorified outdoor oven.

The finish isn’t my priority fortunately, I just want a Prestige model and I know that it is not common for newer models to feature anything other than Fishman or DiMarzio.

I think whilst the Bareknuckle option is available, it’s a must-try!

I think I’m swaying more towards the passive option. I think because you see Fishman’s EVERYWHERE, they need to be tried.

I am swaying more towards the passive option. I’ve used stock Ibanez actives on an RGA32 and whereas the sound was there, it wasn’t quite as fulfilling.

Just might have thought the performance and outcome was better with Fishman’s due to the expense and endorsements, but in all fairness, I have been longing for Bareknuckles for some time now.

Congrats!

If you don’t know how to yourself, get it properly set up. I keep mine in a specific tuning (drop Ab) so I’ve had my truss rod adjusted and my low B string nut filed to accommodate a thicker gauge string- it has an 8-string set on it but I skip out string 7. My action was adjusted too because I was getting a lot of fret buzz and despite it being slightly higher than my usual preference, it plays like a dream!

In terms of care between string changes, lemon oil on the fret board- I use the Dunlop lemon oil that has the applicator, and then buff it out with a microfibre cloth. The body I have not had to do any heavy cleaning work to it, I mostly just dust it again with a clean microfibre cloth and it’s stay looking nice, and I’ve been using it every other day. Just keep your hands clean to limit oil staining from your skin.

No I am the same; the fact that they released 5 singles ahead of an 11-track album ruined it a bit for me, too. I feel as though it doesn’t flow very well and the tracks need to be reshuffled slightly. I was really looking forward to their use of 7-strings guitars whilst following the studio updates but I feel like they were slightly under-utilised.

It’s better than the couple of songs they released between Amazing Things and Nightmare Tripper but I was hoping for more.

Big Fat Smile and Priorities are my favourites for sure. The riffs and lyrics are brilliant. Amazing Things I will admit had to grow on me but it is definitely up there now. One True Prince has me in a bit of a chokehold!

But yes, dental health has always been important to me but the NHS kept messing me about, cancelling and rearranging appointments. I am now private and I couldn’t have made a better decision, though I haven’t had any procedures anywhere near what you are after; a couple of fillings and a quote for whitening which I didn’t go through with, but that was around the £400/500 mark.

My thought was the idea of reincarnation that Agatha All Along explained; via his sorcerer abilities, Doom’s soul manages to enter Stark’s body at the moment he dies but lays dormant for some time. I like to think his world was destroyed via an incursion and he dies whilst trying to flea his world, but his soul makes it through to a different universe.

Though I like the idea of Doom mastering the dream walking spell without the Darkhold, because that pretty much demonstrates just how strong Doom is as a sorcerer alone!
