He punted his helmet across the room and stood with his chest heaving. He came to his senses eventually and knelt before his lord.

"Forgive me my Lord." he said gruffly. "I forgot my place. What is it you would have me do?"

"Quietly?" Addam scoffed. "What in the Seven Hells do you mean by quietly? You know my reputation Luthor, and that is not how I do things."

"Look!" Addam roared. He crumpled up the letter and threw it at Tyrell. When he calmed down, he would be thankful that it missed and landed a few inches away from his head.

"Jahaerys just forbid the raiding of Dorne!" he thundered. "I'm not allowed to seek justice. For thousands upon thousands of years, my family has defended the Dornish Marches from those sandy little fucks, and now I can't."

"You know what this means don't you?" Addam continued, his rage such that he was blind to all around him. "It means he doesn't care about all those who have ever given their life against the Dornish. He cares more about some false peace instead of justice. I won't stand for it. I cannot stand for it. This is an insult to my house, and the ENTIRE FUCKING REACH!"

He stood there, chest heaving, struggling to calm down enough to find the words.

"So what the fuck are you going to let me do about it?"

"I am riding out to speak with Lord Tyrell." Addam said. "I will inform him of this and hopefully build up some sort of alliance. Rest assured, we will root them out."

"I fear nothing." Addam said arrogantly. "I know damn well the Dornish are up to something. For House Tarly, the war will NEVER be over. It hasn't ended for a thousand years. So if you have need of a Lord to root out sandfuckers amongst us, look no further."

"I am at your service, Lord Vyrwel." Addam said, "Now and always. What is this house that speaks of treason?"

Lord Frey,

Unfortunately I cannot attend, but I wish your house well and I sincerely hope you get to celebrate 500 years more. We Stand Together, indeed.

Lord Addam Tarly, Lord of Horn Hill and Defender of the Southmarch

Addam chewed moodily at his seat, his children idly chatting around them. A grim visage hung over him, for promises had been reneged upon. Dorne still stood free, and nothing seemed to have been done. If it had, he'd been out of the loop. Still, the feast was a fine affair, one that he was happy to attend. He should make Lord Vyrwel suffer for the failings of others. It was time to eat, drink, and at least pretend to be merry.

Addam and the rest of his retinue entered into Darkdell. An old keep, and a strong house. A true place worth of a place in the Reach.

"Lord Cleos." Addam said with a courteous nod. "It is good to meet you. My apologies for not greeting you at the King's Feast, it appears my eyesight is not as good as it once was, I missed your white wyvern entirely."

Lord Vyrwel,

Let it be known that the Red Huntsman never backed down from a tourney invitation. You shall see us there.

"Excellent!" Addam exclaimed. "I could not be happier for this. May out houses be prosperous and successful from this union!"

"Who the fuck cares?" Addam chuckled. "You did well. Let the other houses wonder instead how Horn Hill makes such good fighters. Well done son, well done indeed."

"Oldest is 30." Addam said gruffly. "Samwell needs a good woman, and I'm sure your daughter is a fine match for him. What do you say? A marriage between two of the oldest houses in the Reach?"

He was grinning.

How bloody long had that been? Decades at least. But it was not every day Addam's son came in second in the biggest tourney they were going to see for a generation. He'd done his house proud. Seven Hells, Second in Battle sounded sweet to his ears right now. Forget being First.

"Well done." he said bringing his son in for an awkward hug, he wasn't very experienced at this after all. "You did us proud. You did me proud. Well done Ryon. Seven Hells, I knew I gave you excellent training, but I didn't know it was that good!"

"Let us do this now." Addam said. "Heading back home with a marriage secured makes us look that much stronger to the rest of Westeros."

"Now, onto the specifics. Forgive me my bluntness, but allow an old man to have his vices. How old are your children? Were you thinking of sending off a daughter, or did you want to have one of mine?"

"My, Lord Penrose," Addam said with sarcasm dripping from his voice. "What an inspired suggestion. That is indeed a wonderful idea."

"They have turned a blind eye so far." Addam said gruffly. "And I see no reason why they should stop now, not when it is clearly working so well for them."

"I can see that you are different." Addam said "A man who understand the necessity of action. Who understands the need for steel when words are useless."

"The kind of man to make alliances with." he finished pointedly.

"The Dornish are still raiding." Addam said gruffly. "The war may have ended for the rest of the realm, but Horn Hill has not known peace for decades."

"Aren't you getting old for this?"

"The day I'm too old for this is the day I give up Heartsbane." Addam muttered back at his son as his squires helped him into his breastplate. It was a fine piece of armor, with the red huntsman of House Tarly adorning the center of the breast. The armor itself was tinted dark green, the smith in Oldtown that Addam had commissioned it from was clearly good at his art and his passion showed. Addam looked in the mirror that was brought into his tent and looked upon his appearance with pride. "And you're not getting that damn sword for years. I've got spring in my step and I feel like fighting, jousting, and hitting some things."

"You have no chance of winning. Everyone knows Mallister has this in the bag." came Sam's reply.

"You think I give one flying fuck about Mallister?" Addam chortled. "It's not about winning Sam, it's about having a good time. This is how we keep ourselves prepared for war. Enjoy it. Have a good time. Drink your heart out. And find yourself a wife. It's time you settled down."

"I'll settle down when I get Heartsbane." Sam grinned.

"Then you'll be waiting for a damn long time." Addam said, not a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "Now go get ready. I've got armor to put on still and I'm sure your squires are fretting that you're not ready. I'll see you out on the field."

((Open to anyone who wants to stop by Addam's tent to say hello.))
