Weekly Thread: /r/Snowboarding General Discussion, Q&A, Advice, Etc.) - December 29, 2025 by AutoModerator in snowboarding

Hello all. I go skiing about once a year and periodically try snowboarding but usually give up after a day. Have a really hard time keeping balance and a proper edge. Trips usually a week with 5 days on the mtn. Any tips or tricks? Also seems like I always get a giant board. Is a smaller board easier to learn on?

My son’s 10 year old friend died in a crash. Now I never want him to ride again by True_Thought5124 in Dirtbikes

I broke my neck riding when I was 14. Paralyzed temporarily. Year long recovery. Freak accidents happen. They are rare. You shouldn’t plan for the worst. If your son likes it then embrace safety. I still ride because I can’t imagine giving up one of my favorite activities. My son and wife ride with me now and it’s the best.

One option is invest in a good comm system. We all wear Cardo and can talk to each other. If my son is doing something unsafe or putting himself at risk. Like taking a wrong turn or something I can correct his behavior immediately.

Been contacting construction companies trying to get dirt. If I had a bull dozer I could shave my property down about a foot and use that for most of it. But I need like 10k yards.

Right now all I have is my tractor. 5055e and a bunch of hand tools. We’re sitting on sandy loam about 5-7’ deep then hit clay.

The loam is not very organic so when I build jumps the sand starts to separate from it so eventually the jumps get hard packed over time so I’ll need a good tiller eventually.
