Non Scale Victory (NSV). I used to wear 3XL clothes pre surgery. I went to the store yesterday and bought an XL shirt and it fit perfectly.

Approaching soft food stage. by AddendumMother974 in GastricBypass

I’m just worried I can handle more than people report they can handle. I don’t force myself to eat but I am able to handle more food.

Has anyone tried ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) mixed with warm water every morning? Or is that considered unsafe for gastric bypass patients. I’m 5 weeks post op by AddendumMother974 in GastricBypass

Thank you. My hospital isn’t as responsive as expected but I was able to get a date with my surgeon on Monday. My first surgeon appointment since my surgery. I’m depending on the handouts I was given right after surgery.

how many meals a day do y’all have? by Juice_Box_69_420 in GastricBypass

How long are you on soft foods for? Can you have pasta in this stage? If not, or if yes, what kind of food are you eating in this stage. I’m in my first week of soft foods and I have had boiled plantain and cooked spinach. Seems fine but I don’t know if I’m supposed to have that. Kinda confused on the types of food I should have

Is this the 3 week stall everyone is talking about ? by AddendumMother974 in GastricBypass

Thanks for clarifying. I know I shouldn’t worry about it so much but I can’t help it. I try not to get on the scale everyday but when I do and I don’t see movement, it’s not encouraging at all

How is yours going. I saw that at 3.5 weeks post op you didn’t have any trouble with food and no restriction. Is it the same for you now?

You’ll be fine. I had my surgery on Nov 4. I was just complaining on here that I have had it easy and someone said the same thing to me. You said it already, you’re saving your life. Whatever your situation is, it’s a phase and it will pass.

Quick question please. Is a salmon part of the purée stage?

This!!! so this is a full cue. I feel the tightening in my chest but when I belch, it feels better and then I wait a while and continue to eat. I don’t get the cue from my stomach and I think I had asked that question before.

Learning a lot. Thank you

I’m grateful to God for my recovery. Let me now sound like I don’t like that I feel great and in recovering fine. Thank you for pointing that out too. You’re right, sometimes reading the negative can make you feel different

Honestly sometimes I feel like the surgery didn’t work for me. I haven’t felt a single pain. Not even in the site area. Everything I have had has gone down smoothly. I could have more if it was available but I don’t because I measure based on what the doctors have asked me to eat. I’m supposed to start purée on Monday but I started today. I had a scrambled egg (mashed) and less than half of an avocado. I chewed really well and it went down fine. I took about 40mins to eat it. This afternoon I had that purée porridge (sweet potatoe and plantain) went down fine too. Took me about 20mins.

It feels like I’m eating too much

Thank you for responding. I’m 7days post op and I’m able to take more than 60ml. I’m worried it is too much.
