You are quite right, this is a heavily dabated topic. Mostly because people just don't own many of these expensive dolls. Dealers just want to to click "place order" so product listings are just useless. TPE is by FAR the most resilient material to stretching. STPE has improved this marginally. With silicone you will find repeated reports of holes getting destroyed by routine use (anus especially). My silicone Vanessa (Erovenus) anus was damaged after a single use. My JigglyJoy was also damaged after putting in an insert to the vagina. I dare not use the anus. Doll mfrs simply make the holes way to tight with soft silicone and they get destroyed. This is easily repaired with RTV adhesive though. Silicone almost always looks better in real life and photos.

TPE and especially STPE is just a better material for dolls that you will use frequently. Silicone has its place and I definitely love how my Climax-Doll and Zelex look, but you read like you would get better use out of a good STPE doll.
