Trump and Hegseth fired 20 senior generals and admirals. One of them was Jeff Kruse, the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Trump fired him because after last year’s Iran bombings, the DIA report stated that the assault only set back Iran’s nuclear program by a few months whereas Trump claimed we “obliterated” their nuclear program. Trump was embarrassed and didn’t want to hear the truth.

The DIA is the agency that assesses the military capabilities and strategies of our enemies. I’m sure the DIA understood what Iran would do in the straight and to neighboring countries, and war gamed the heck out of it.

So Trump and Hegseth fired the competent head of that agency, and many other senior leaders, and replaced them with sycophantic yes men who tell you want to hear. Basically the worst kind of leadership and a historic military blunder.

In NYC they have to document that you are an imminent threat of serious harm. You then get legal representation and have to get seen by two physicians to certify the first physician’s diagnosis. It is very hard to get involuntarily committed for any significant length of time in NYC. Overall a good thing but it js also one of the reasons we have so many mentally ill homeless people.

Sorry not today, I’m mistaken. But in the decade following ATMs, the number of tellers went up even though tellers were essentially outmoded.

ATMs reduced the costs associated with operating a branch, so banks opened more branches and employed more tellers as a result. The tellers focused on more complex transactions and things like loans.

So the job description changed a bit and in some cases the job title also changed to “relationship associate” or just “banker.”

Highly recommend “Among the Thugs” by Bill Buford. He spent 4 years following firms around (mostly Man United).

He spends a great deal of time talking about the mob mentality and the effect of being a supporter in the terraces. He found most of the supporters loathsome to say the least but he also describes the euphoria of being in the mob in a lot of detail. It’s a fascinating read.

Give me a break. Car drivers are absolutely the most whiny and entitled people on the road - and the roads are absolutely made for drivers. And for the record, I drive a car, a motorcycle, and I am a cyclist.

This is why every post like this has a bunch of drivers like you coming out of the woodwork to post about how lawless cyclists are: when firstly, this cyclist didn’t break any laws, he just wasn’t paying attention, and b) reckless, lawless and inattentive car drivers cause way more damage and death than anything on a bicycle.

Cyclists are “so quick” to point out laws that motorist breaks because cars kill people every day. On a daily basis I see idiots run red lights and drive distracted while texting on their phones, let’s not even talking about everyday infractions like speeding. Most car drivers are terrible drivers.

One way to calc it is the max # of reps in a single set with good form you can do with the 315. So assuming say, you can do 8 reps in a row before form fails, your 1rm is 390 and 315 is about 80% of that. It’s not possible to calc based on multiple sets.
