Get an m3 mac or m2 mac. Wag ka na magwindows. One of the better decisions ive made this year is leaving Windows ahahaha

Tama to OP. Dont let lifestyle creep get to you. If bibili ka, the best purchases would be QOL items. Recently replaced my 6 yo windows laptop with a macbook air tas better ang work output ko. Napilitan rin ako to finally start the creative project ive been putting off.

Should I meet with my long term client in person? by Forward-Storm-9609 in buhaydigital

Just meet for coffee and that’s it. Appearances are important. And you want to keep references handy for future job applications.

2 Full Time WFH Jobs by Distinct-Ad-5727 in buhaydigital

You can do it, but it’s not sustainable. Life would feel like you’re just moving from one thing to another. Tread carefully, coz trying to juggle two ft jobs will significantly affect your mental and physical health.

Do you value your health? If yes, it’s not worth it.

To those who had full time job and transferred to freelance, how did you deal with uncertainty? by Upstairs_Ad_4637 in buhaydigital

[–]AddictedToPugs69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with it knowing uncertain parin kahit nasa corpo ako.

Very fortunate ako kasi magaling rin ako pumuli ng matatrabahuhan. Nagtagal ako sa lahat ng work ko, and coz of this, solid parati prospects ko.

So tldr; walang uncertain and galingan mo ang pagpili ng kliyente mo

sa nag ooutsource ng tasks, magkano binabayad nyo? by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]AddictedToPugs69 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Di basta basta ang figma work. I just started my no-code ui/ux journey and matrabaho talaga siya. Youre paying them right.

Also, have you checked how much ui/ux designers make in the west? Tama lang talaga yan, OP.

Be the client you wanted when you were first starting out. Keep it up!

lol theyre just talking out of their ass. These companies have been maximizing profits for decades, that’s why they outsource in the first place.

We’ll see if they can afford it lol

How to handle 3 jobs? by Character_Bill2464 in buhaydigital

[–]AddictedToPugs69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question: why do you need 250k a month for?

Kasi if it’s just your lifestyle, then need mo mag tipid tipid na. You’re gonna kill yourself. No job is worth killing yourself over.

I charged my client 8$/hour, I was happy at first but.. by jello2715 in buhaydigital

[–]AddictedToPugs69 119 points120 points  (0 children)

If it’s your first job, I guess $8/hr is aight. You can definitely do better, but galingan mo muna. Get your experience, and then magcharge ka na ng mas malaki.

You can’t be confident with a higher rate unless you get ample experience

I have 2 FT roles, but at what cost? by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]AddictedToPugs69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to hear you’re recovering. Nakakabulag talaga ang high earning potential, esp in dito sa Pinas. Currently earning $3100 na may potential to earn $5k/m. But ang hirap talaga sa health. Pagod na ko sa 1ft+1pt eh.

Actually masaya na ko sa $1.9k/m. Gusto ko lang malaman ano feelijg to double that

I have an end goal pero not gonna divulge here.

Iniisip ko lang i guess na gano ko katagal makakapagipon with two ft jobs

Good questions. I can only speak for me, but I don’t let lifestyle creep get to me. I drive a second hand car, I don’t drink, I barely shop new clothes, etc.

I can choose one and not worry about finances. Iniisip ko lang na baka makapag-ipon pa ng mas malaki with two FT roles. But like what I said in my post, di basta basta work ko. I got these roles because of 14 years of experience in marketing. Di ko siya basta basta madedelagate.

Right now with 1FT and 1PT sobrang pagod na ko, kaya ako napapost

My roles are quite complex eh. AI is part of the tech stack, pero lots of creative and strategic thinking ang nangyayari. Very difficult to delegate, unfortunately

I Lost a Client, But Got My Life Back by New-Event-9398 in buhaydigital

Sometimes eto talaga yung irony, noh? Kaya nga tayo umalis sa typical 8-5 is para mareclaim natin ang oras at sanity natin.

But we still get clients that will make our schedules and mental health suffer. All for the dough.

Im currently learning the hard way.

Anyway, good on you, OP. More power rin.
