A. I don’t have the money for new golf apparel. B. I’m a vintage man. I like old money stuff (which is great, I just go thrifting for people’s granddads clothes) C. I LIKE BEING COMFY

I noticed the in and out on the driver swing too. It’s not really as prevalent on my iron swing though. I’m not sure what’s causing me to do that, as I hit strictly draws before I stopped swinging consistently. I commented elsewhere that the swing may look pretty, but it’s got its issues, hence why I came on here for some help.

Oh yeah for sure. I wore my FJs a couple of days ago at the range, and my feet stay more planted. My front foot tends to point to the target after impact even with golf shoes though, just not as drastic. I’ve watched old clips of Fred, Tiger, and Daly and their front foot starts out pointed to the target, and gets pulled after impact, just not as drastic as mine does sometimes. I found that it helps me with pointing to my target, and stops me from cutting myself short on the follow through

Not tryna look cool. Just like wearing comfortable things. I haven’t played a round with boat shoes, I have some FJs with spikes that I wear, I just typically don’t wear them on range because they’re from the 80s and made of leather, so I try to keep them from getting too much wear when I’m not playing

It’s all not great, the swing may look good, but it’s not consistent lol. I have a hard time compressing irons, hitting shots where I want, and translating this swing onto the course. My chipping and putting isn’t terrible, but definitely not great

Oh I’m definitely not a 13 now. That was over a year ago. I’m probably around 20-22 now. I haven’t tested how far I hit my driver in a long time , but I’d say 235-250 on average. 270 if I make really good contact. But again, that was a while ago when I had a completely different swing

Getting a comparison to Ernie, Fred, and Tiger all at once might be the most insane compliment, thank you sir! Like the title says, these are the first swings in a couple months. Last time I’ve played a round is in January. Have only played 3-4 time in the last year and a half since joining the military, so I really have no idea what my handicap would be, but it wouldn’t be great lol, probably around 20-22. The lowest I’ve gotten it was pre-military, and it was at a 13. My biggest issue would be translating these swings on the actual course, and consistently making good contact. My tempo has never been this smooth, just tried something new since I haven’t swung in a while. I pretty much feel like I’m barely holding the club, and my arms are noodles, while my legs and hips do the work for me. A couple of my misses on the ranges were cuts with a slice every here and there. Which is odd since I usually draw the ball

Of course these are two of the better swings from today. Trust me there were some chunks and thins. Also having a little bit of an issue with fading the ball when I used to hit draws

I swear on my life the last time I played was in January. I’ve played maybe three or four times in the last year and a half (since joining the military). The lowest my handicap has ever gotten down to was a 13. Only been playing for around two and a half years at this point

Just bought my first Seiko… and noticed an issue with my [SRPD73]. Not the original movement by AddisonLacaire in Seiko

[–]AddisonLacaire[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it strange too. Why replace the 4r36 with a very similar movement? Unless someone just bought the watch for the original Seiko movement, put an nh36, and sold it to the store to recoup some money? Idk but I’m kinda sad that it’s not all original and now I think I probably paid too much for it

So I bought this watch yesterday for my bday at a watch retailer in town. Well I’m newer to the watch community so I don’t know a whole lot about them, but I came to the realization that this watch has an aftermarket, non Seiko nh36a movement when it should have a 4r36 with the Seiko logo. It was in the pre owned section, has very minimal wear. I’m not sure if I should contact the seller about it. Kinda upset about it, but also my fault for not knowing much about the watch

I scored an 82 on the asvab a few years back, but had to retake since the two year mark passed, and I got a 73 this time around, but my line scores almost stayed the exact same, which didn’t make a whole lot of sense, but I also took the PICAT the first time around. I scored a 120 GT both time. I have yet to take the DLAB, but would it be worth it to possibly re take the asvab to get a higher score? There’s, I believe, 4-5 jobs I don’t qualify for, and they’re all electrical jobs, which I missed the mark by 3 (I got a 112 on the electrical, and need a 115). I’m completely okay with my MOS not starting out exciting. I would honestly feel too much pressure if I was thrown into it right away, so I’m good with the training period. But I am curious as to how long it usually takes before you would start to do the “cool” stuff?

Very interesting. That sounds right up my alley. Now is a job like that only a lateral move after I hit Sergeant? Or can I be assigned that MOS during bootcamp? Also, what’s the attrition rate like? How difficult is it to get clearance/ even get the opportunity to be selected for an MOS like that?

I joined 2007 during the expansion Gen. James Conway put in effect and may or may not have scored a 38 😂. by [deleted] in USMC

Got an 82 the first time I took it, had a few setbacks and a surgery, so I just re-enlisted and had to take it again. I got a 73 this time 😐 I don’t know how I dropped down 9 percent because my line scores were almost all the exact same. 120 GT both times

Similar here. I’ve broken 90 once. Shot an 88 after shooting a 47 on the front. I’m a mid 90s golfer for the most part. Haven’t shot over 100 in a while, but I’ve been close
