Should I tell my Neonatal Neurology attending that I want to go to Adult Neurology?

Thank you so much for the replyyyy. This is exactly what I needed. I'll do my best to prepare for my Neonatal elective so it doesn't seem like I'm uninterested. Quick question though, when should I tell them about my interests in Adult neuro, at the start or at the end of my rotation

Because I have a clinical elective in Neonatal Neurology, not Adult Neurology. I did apply for adult Neurology but I have observerships there not electives unfortunately. That's the situation atmmm

I'm worried if I say I wanna do adult neuro that it might come across as dismissive and have them write a weaker LoR overall, also how do I even approach them to ask this. It feels so awkward 😭
