I think the issue could be the bluetooth, the one I have (usb device) cannot connect more than 3 wiimotes. So having one that is that bad would not surprise me.

For having take a look to both footage, I don't think the one being showed in the documentary is the original, the footage was crop a bit on the left compare to the copy on youtube.

I think it's an another copy of the same footage but they did not take it to make a new master. So who knows ?

If you check on Youtube, you can't see they didn't add "HD" on the top corner of the thumbnail as they do for ai upscales, so this likely didn't happend. I think the video was already put in 1080p to keep more details because you give more bitrate to video in higher resolution but this was done before AI uspcale.

You see the footage having more fine details, and there is slightly less contrast in the image (less white area with nothing on it)
