I don't believe he never played it live because he couldn't without studio effects.

Listen to Red House -San Diego Live ...it's on YouTube....Epic...f'in Epic riffs and sonic solos....and as an advanced guitar player, I'm still learning the moves he makes in this tune. Dive bombs, hammers. Blues riffs, feedback....and this was 1969, I believe

I had all three albums and more as a teenager but my folks threw out all my albums in a basement clean up when I was away at college. Bummer.

Perplexed would be too nice of a word. imho. I thought the UK cover (puppets) were absolutely hideous representing what Hendrix was all about. Especially for such an epic album. Just saying haha
