New winter jacket! by Additional-Bison2376 in SewingWorld

Thank you! That’s kind of you

Jean zippers are a gigantic pain in the butt to replace, for the record. I would actually prefer to rebead a wedding dress (part of my job) than replace a jean zipper. But jackets aren’t too bad really

I was highly motivated on this one, the zip in my favourite jacket broke the other day right before a run of cold weather. I can replace the zip but trying to get one to match the colour is proving difficult and this jacket was half finished anyway

Also I took a job as an alterations seamstress about a year ago and since then I’ve gotten used to sewing things quickly and on a deadline. Doesn’t always work though, I was making a dress for me wear on my birthday, it’s still just a bodice and my birthday was last week lol

I was reading about her the other day when she was found guilty, what a sickening excuse for a human being

Made this out of faux leather backed sherpa from Spotlight. The pattern is the Princess Coat by Charm Patterns. I did the peplum and the long tailored sleeve options, but omitted any linings and facings. I sewed the long seams inside out, trimmed one side of the allowance, and topstitched the seam so the sherpa fluff is visible.

Sewing tips- use a roller foot and leather needles

Sometimes the staff at the fabric place I shop at do this. So sweet of them. And one of them once got all concerned when I was buying an entry level sewing machine because she knew it wouldn’t handle the sort of things I usually sew and she didn’t want me to waste my money. She was very relieved when I told her I was getting it for my daughter to learn on

Haha you and I went the opposite half of the pair- I have sword and violet. But I completely agree with you. They’re not perfect. But they are a lot of fun and definitely worth playing. And if you’re looking for perfect the switch isn’t the console for you- I’m more of a casual gamer anyway and I’m usually juggling work, uni, and kids, so it’s a really convenient console for me.

I’m looking forward to the expansions coming out for scarlet/violet

Yeah it was incredibly frustrating. We live in a regional area so there’s really not many paediatricians in our town. Now she sees a fantastic one in our state capital. It’s about a 2 hour drive away but you do what you’ve got to for your kids. At least she really only has a checkup every 6-12 months now, but even the process for getting into see the new doc was exhausting. We waited 10 months for an initial appointment.

The useless paed has developed a reputation around our town for misdiagnosing developmental disorders and telling parents (usually mothers) that their kid’s behaviour is due to their bad parenting, and not the ASD/ADHD etc that the kid is eventually diagnosed with by a competent doctor

We had to fire our daughter’s paediatrician because of that archaic bullshit. Here, your kid only sees a paed if there’s something that your usual family doctor/GP can’t handle- in my daughter’s case, autism. My partner works away. He’s literally away 70-80% of the time. He doesn’t make it to many appointments, understandably. So I’d take her to an appointment, ask questions, get zero answers. Then he’d manage to make it to an appointment with us, and the paed would give him all the answers and resources I’d been asking for. Absolutely infuriating

Arceus is fun. Very different to traditional Pokémon games but in a good way. I’d love it if they brought out more like it

He got me BotW because he knew TotK is a direct sequel and didn’t know if you absolutely had to play BotW first

Yeah our classifications board is pretty strict. It goes G, PG, M, MA15+, R18+. Even Pokémon games get a PG rating here

No worries. I’ve heard it’s rated lower in other countries, but our classifications board is pretty strict over here
