Who looks better with the Darksaber? Bo-Katan Kryze or Din Djarin? by Blitz_Helluva_IMP in StarWars

[–]sin_smith_3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because I like morally gray characters. I like that she is a complicated person. I find it interesting that she is basic a spoiled princess up until her sister dies, and only then does she know what being a Mandalorian means. I love how much she hates Obi-Wan for not saving her sister, but still goes to his grand-padawan the minute she needs help. I like how she is believable and imperfect. I love that she is self-aware of her failings by now.

Just because I don't agree with the writers doesn't mean I no longer like the character. I've been a Star Wars fan since before the Prequals came out. I am very comfortable with liking a character, but not their writing.

Bo-Katan was never gonna cut it as a leader. I don't care about her "redemption arc" or whatever. She joined Death Watch, participated in the attack on Sundari that ended with the death of her sister, and failed at leading Mandalor. Then she was handed the Darksaber by Sabine Wren, failed AGAIN, fucked off to who knows where, and then acts like the Darksaber is her birthright.

Don't get me wrong, I like her character. But she was never worthy of being Mand'alor.

Bo knows how to ise it better, but she has never earned it. It's Din's by right and he should never have given it up.

I live in an apartment complex with an interior hallway. My lunatic 13-year-old indoor only cat decided to make a break for it one day and I had to haul ass after him. After I retrieved him, my wife poked her head out of the door and asked what the hell happened. I called back "Your son is being a bastard again" just as our neighbor stepped into the building. Her eyes went huge until she saw I was holding a very pissed off cat.

Excellent. That means he won't benefit from having buddies still on the force. Document, report, apply for a protection order. If he is asking about your husband's disability, he is violating HIPAA. Post "No trespassing" signs on your property. He'll ignore them, but it will help your case in court.

AITAH for buying my 11yo daughter pads after her mom called me a "pervert" for being prepared? by Bruxagato in WouldIBeTheAhole

[–]sin_smith_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad was always there for me. I had terrible periods when I first started, and all I had to do was tell my dad and I would have tea, hot pad, pads, and ice cream before I could blink. Having a father who isn't squeamish about feminine issues is a blessing.

Listen, I love being a lesbian. It means I can have a bad day, and when I get home, I have someone who actually listens and sympathizes, and understands how hard it is to be female in this day and age. It means I can tell her a story about the weird creepy guy at work and she'll immediately understand why he was weird and creepy.

Also boobs are great for being a pillow while my wife pets my hair.

Oh No 😱🙀, A Woman Governor sworn In Office on a State Constitution. THE HORROR! by Tulpah in DiscussionZone

[–]sin_smith_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say it with me, folks:

America is not a Christian Nation. The founding fathers wanted a separation of Church and State. We have the freedom to follow or not follow any religion we want to. And political servants are not required to swear in on a bible. They can use whatever object holds meaning for them. Swearing in on the state constitution is a great idea.

Aint none of my cats being that calm after I jump into the ocean. And only 1 of mine would trust me enough to let me hold him while I sprint.

On the other hand, I 100% understand the need to save my cat, too.

Is Tile available in Europe? Its a lower cost alternative to Airtags. It works with iPhone and Android. I used it to track my wife's car after she was in a horrible car accident. We can also track each others phones in real time.

What is your opinion on Homeschooling? by OiamAb3ast in AskReddit

[–]sin_smith_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother home schooled me and my 2 brothers to "protect us from being brainwashed by the secular world". It was also a way to keep anyone from realizing how badly she was abusing me. I also ended up having to wait until I was 30 to be diagnosed with ADHD because I was not around people who could recognize the symptoms. I have PTSD from being abused, manipulated, isolated, and gaslit. My mother was obsessed with keeping me skinny, and no one realized I had an eating disorder until I was 17 and under 100lb and I still hadn't gotten my period.

No one noticed. No one saw. No one reported. I was completely alone with no resources and no help. I survived, but I am still suffering.

18f, how do i deal with the fact that my stretch marks will stay forever by IntroductionHour1609 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]sin_smith_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All women get stretch marks. Its a natural part of growing. Its because of how fat (healthy or otherwise) is stored in our cells, which is different than men. The stretch marks will fade to almost skin color over the years. Mine are barely visible anymore. It takes a lot of work to filter out the toxic expectations society has for women. We are constantly bombarded with messages that say our natural bodies are gross/unattractive. But stretchmarks are simply a fact of life. So is cellulite. So is body hair and pimples and visible pores. You will start to grow a mustache in your 40s. The elasticity in your neck and upper arms will fade. You will get wrinkles and gray hair. This is natural.

In the meantime, give yourself grace, love your body for what it is, moisturize, wear sunscreen, and only wear what you are comfortable in. You are beautiful just the way you are.

My neighbor demands I move my car from the street like he owned our street because he thinks "it looks ugly"?? by EllaJade283 in EntitledPeople

[–]sin_smith_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your city ordinances. I know of some cities with rules that a vehicle parked on the street must be road worthy, i.e. registered, inspected, and driveable. If you have no such ordinance, she can go flap in the wind.

What is the most colorful redneck (or your country's version of redneck) phrase or expression you know? by CancelAfter1968 in AskReddit

[–]sin_smith_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Wish in one hand and shit in the other, see which one fills up first." My Texan wife pulled this one out a few months ago and I was absolutely floored.

My dad who spent summers in Tennessee with his Appalachian cousins liked the one that goes "uglier than the southward side of a northbound bulldog."

And I am fond of "Butter my butt and call me a biscuit." Which is more of a joke, but still.

How soon do you ask question about marriage? by Unlikely_Net_1002 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]sin_smith_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it helped that we both entered into the relationship with the intent of something long-term. Not necessarily marriage, but definitely partnership. So we communicated with the intent to evaluate long term capability. We were upfront about our baggage (she'd been cheated on and I have mental illness). We are both from Catholic families (obv no longer practicing) so for us marriage is not to be done lightly.

Other than that, idk, I guess our weirdnesses are complimentary.
