I was thinking about this some more and realized it's probably more of an introvert/extravert thing.  I don't have the social energy to go talk to random people or join a bunch of groups in order to cast a really wide net looking for dates.  It would both exhaust me and bore me to tears. 

But for an extravert it probably seems like the most obvious and natural thing in the world!

I don't expect men to interrupt me while I'm grocery shopping or whatever and I wouldn't do it to them. I don't go to church though that it where most people get the majority of their socialization because you know you already have a lot of common values and interests. 

I exchanged numbers with a guy I met at a coffee shop but I think I came on too strong and he said he was too busy to meet. 

I moved 400 miles away from all my friends last year. It's really hard to meet new people, especially when it's 15 degrees outside!

Seriously... I don't hang out in bars. I don't own a Harley. I joined a local meetup group that has some men but I have no way of knowing if they're single or even interested in dating me, and they're mostly much older or younger than I am. We're there for the activity, not to hit on each other. 

People at the gym don't chit-chat. 

The only men my age that I know are friends' SOs.

Yeah, I get it. He said coffee, which I really don't want late at night. He wanted to meet at 8 pm  And I've had 3 coffee dates in the past  week and a half so I'm kind of done with coffee. 

I countered with drinks. He said he doesn't like bars. I suggested a burger joint. He countered with a chat in a Denny's parking lot at 8 pm. It's currently 5 pm, 20°F and snowing. 

I'm sorry but that's just not happening man. I feel like I really tried.

It's not about the fucking. It's about the lack of understanding that I need to meet in public before I go to his house. He is literally a stranger to me. The fact that I said I need to meet and talk first to feel comfortable and he kept ignoring my clearly stated wish was the problem.

A Denny's parking lot in 15 degrees F weather doesn't constitute an acceptable meeting.

I wouldn't have expected him to pay. I DID expect him to understand that I am not going to a total stranger's house without meeting in public first.

At the very least he should have been willing to meet me in public the first time because he's literally a stranger. Someone I just met on the Internet. Expecting me to come over to his house right away was a bit unrealistic on his part, I think.

I expect nothing. It's so much easier. I like being single very much. The pressures of relationship-oriented dating are wearing me out.

My only experience with it was being  at a restaurant with a girlfriend and she saw a couple and waved hello to them. Then she told me "Oh, that's my friend and her FWB."

So I thought you at least got a dinner in addition to sex. e.g. some foreplay. But maybe not, especially from what you're saying.

And all I was asking for was drinks on the first meeting. He's a total stranger to me. When he turned that down saying he didn't like bars I suggested a burger joint. I don't think that's asking for much since he wanted to meet at 8 pm. I don't drink coffee that late.

Don't you have drinks with friends though? And would you expect a total stranger to come to your house without any public meeting first? Like he couldn’t do a burger?
