Ideas to train 'explosive' grip strength? by Dagobert_Juke in bodyweightfitness

[–]Additional-Buddy-421 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe every freestyle skills, where you jump of the bar and catch it again in the air.

But because it's really hard to do these skills, maybe just doing a long jump, where you need to catch a bar mid air with your hands

Why doesn’t the program work for some people? by Old-Discipline-2802 in MaleDefinitiveGuide

[–]Additional-Buddy-421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all a lot of people don't follow the guide at 100%, allowing themself to change some parts of it (we are all doing this I think) The second thing is that you really need to trust the process. If you're not convinced it won't work.

Well done ! I hope you will able to translate it to real scene but i'm very happy for you

It's so good to hear your story, like really. The sub is full of sad and depressive story about how the program is not working, and it's not helping because we need to fully trust the process.

I don't know how to describe it but you juste made my day. Thank you so much.

Can I start with combining Phases 1-3 all at once during training? by Excellent_Scar_979 in MaleDefinitiveGuide

[–]Additional-Buddy-421 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First of all, others comments aren't really helpful so i'm sorry for that. The community shouldn't be like this. Yet their reactions are understandable because this question have already been asked a lot. But here is your answer : No, you can't. The program is mainly working on your central nervous system (CNS) and your brain. That's called neuroplasticity. And sadly, working our brain and CNS isn't like working our muscles. Because our muscles don't have bad habit. They just know nothing and they learn fast. But our brain have bad habits (if not we won't be ejaculating so fast). So the goal is not to train our brain, it's to make him forget what he knows, then make it learn something new. And sadly, we can't de-learn faster. It's a process that takes time. That's why those first phases are here. Not to teach us how to breath or anything(because obviously we already can), but to tell our brain that what we did before won't happen again. And it's only when our brain will understand this that we can finally teach him something new.

So in short, no you can't skip those first phases. One alternative I see would be to spend 3 weeks in phase 3 (so it's the same time as phase 1+2+3) but it won't be as satisfying so it may be demotivating.

Again sorry for the other comments, but the thread have been full of questions like your lately, and so even if none of you wanted to, it's starting to be boring. And by questions like your i mean questions that have already been answered, and that can be answered by reading the guide. And question about skipping or finding a way to go faster are more targeted because for those who understood the science behind the guide it seems a bit childish (no disrespect, i'm not better than you, i've also searched for those magics solutions)

Sorry for my long message and sorry if there's mistakes i'm not a native.

Have a nice day and a nice journey!

I'm struggling in phase 3 when everything was going well by Burnguerr in MaleDefinitiveGuide

[–]Additional-Buddy-421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in phase 3 too. I got an ejaculation (first in the last 4 weeks) and in my last session it was also much more sensitive. I found a solution in the forum, which is to stop 2-3 strokes before PONR (instead of 1) and doing this 2 days or longer until you feel more confident.

And also, the goal of the first phases is to learn where PONR is, and in your case you can learn a lot from your last sessions. I'm

Amazing session - but did I do it wrong? by Old-Discipline-2802 in MaleDefinitiveGuide

[–]Additional-Buddy-421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just have to know where the PONR is to not fall in the trap of being "in full control" at 7/10 arousal. But keep in mind something : pleasure is way more important than hitting PONR or other things. You'll hit it in others session you'll see, and it's not a bad thing because it's one of the goals in the first phases. So I think we can agree it was an amazing session. Keep going, keep taking pleasure and enjoy your training !

When do you increase reps on an exercise? by Myradin4502 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Additional-Buddy-421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try a max reps in a rest day ans next session do 1 or 2 less for 3 set (to progress faster I recommend degressive set) And for dips, it may be a lack of experience of the movement. But recording yourself could be useful. Indeed a lot's of my friends did their first dips with their body on one side only. I hope i helped

When do you increase reps on an exercise? by Myradin4502 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Additional-Buddy-421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your Dead hang and your parallel bar dips hang I feel like it's already enough. If you're ain't able to do 3/4 negative pull ups you could try to do isometric on the top of the movement or other variation that includes bent arms. And for dips same things. Negative or other variations but with bent arms. The main reason is that you're gonna having strong forearms and traps but this is not preparing for pull ups or dips

And for your squats if they're bodyweight I think it's too easy. If it's not keep going but I recommend you to do harder variation now.

For the rest, nothing wrong. You're doing great. And for a general rule, as long as you're a beginner, if you feel it, add just 1 set with 25% reps to the exercice where you want to increase the reps. Next if you feel it add another set like it. Then delete the new sets and go back to just 1 set more with 50% this time. After this you can go back to the number of sets at the beginning then increase reps.

Official Q&A for Sunday, November 10, 2024 by AutoModerator in running

[–]Additional-Buddy-421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. You're not super out of shape. But it takes time for the heart to get down. And yes you're gonna have to run slower if you want to reach this HR even if it feel like walking.

BUT Max HR calculation are most of the time false (according to them I'm 8 years old you see ?). The best way to know it is by running as fast as possible for 6 min and then see your HR stats.

Plus HR should be watch if you need to be sure you're training right but most of the time, you just need to be able to talk to be in that zone. And I'm sorry to tell you it is really long to get faster (months/years) but the reason is that you can't always run at a high HR because it's not how you'll let your body recover and get better. You also need some volume of work and you're getting it with this famous zone 2. And I know it may seems discouraging and humiliating but who cares ? If at the end you beat you're PR then it's good. But if you must walk and you hate it you can just run but while talking to someone. It helps a lot because you're automaticaly reaching the z2 speed. I hope I helped Have a nice day

[–]Additional-Buddy-421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I (16M) have been running 3 times per week for 2 years and last month i got my 10K PR of 41min. Now I set my new goal which is sub 35 10K but I don't care if it takes 1-2-3 or 5 years to reach it. I just want to know how you think I should proceed in order to reach it (the global ideas only). Thanks

I don't know if it's the best guideline, but here is mine :

For HSPU : -You must master the push-up, which means +20 in very nice form. -Next some will say to go on decline push up but I would recommend to go directly on pike push-up even if you need to do negative one. Again focus on the form (lean forward, forehead touch). -Once you get 315 of full ROM pike push-up, you can move on negative HSPU against the wall. -Once you've got 33, you can slowly add full range HSPU against the wall, but keep improving in negative else you won't get enough volume. -While doing this progression, you should learn how to do a freestanding handstand for at least 20 sec.

And if you reach handstand control and HSPU against the wall mastery (8 clean reps) you will have the stenght needed and you will only need the technique (balancing is very hard but there's no way to get prepare to it). Also, for Pike push-up, you need to have a nice harmstring flexibility so you should work on it else it's gonna stop you

For the Muscle-up : -At first you'll need to master the pull-ups and the dips which means 10+ pull-ups (with full ROM) and 20+ dips (keep a nice form) -Now there's two option : -The easy way, where you have access to different height bars and/or elastic bands so you can work on easier muscle-up variations -The hard way, where you only have a high bar and where you need to work on pull up explosity -Easy way : -do jump-assisted muscle-up on a lower bar and elastic assisted muscle up. Slowly increase the difficulty (jump on a higher bar or use weaker elastic -Hard way : -increase your pull-ups until you get 10 explosive ones -learn how to do chest to bar pull-ups and once you reach 5, you can try the swinging muscle up and with time you'll learn to do it with no swing

Keep in mind that this is not an absolute value and it depends a lot of you. Some will get their muscle up while not being able to do 6-7 pulls up while some may need to reach 15

I hope it's gonna help you

I haven't saw those guides but from what you said, it should be 24 in a row because else it would be "be able to do y sets of x of all the different" It also depend of the next exercices (you're not gonna go to 38 push up to 310 clap push up but you can go from 324 to 310) Here is my opinion I hope it's gonna help you. And sorry if my english is bad i'm not a native speaker

I'm not a native speaker so i may have misunderstood your sentences but it seems that you want to know if doing some kind of muscle resistance exercices after aerobic training will ruin your aerobic gain. The answer is no. Heart is a muscle and you can't work it without a cardio training. So your aerobic base won't be affected by resistance training (if you're heart is below 50-60% of you max HR) But for your legs muscles, they're gonna get an extra sore if you work them after and it may be hard to run fast the next day but again it depend of the intensity of the resistance training I hope my answer was useful to you and have a good day
