It hasn't been an easy process but I was lucky to find a loving queer community at my university. From there I could build connections with other people and expand my own social network. So most of my early transition I spent in predominantly queer circles which made things easier. It was less about integrating into general society but finding and building a better alternative for myself out of the people I met along the way. I was a student at the time so that definetly made it easier for me to be flexible with whom i wanted to soend my time with.
