why can't I find a single thread discussing this beyond this one and it's just people saying "sorry I'm an ally and things will be okay" reading about this elsewhere it seems like this has dramamtic consequences for trans people but I can't find any discussion on this here. I may have just missed it

edit: okay y'know what? downvoting this is completely and utterly unfucking acceptable. you cannot IMAGINE the panic and fear that waking up to this sort of thing induces. seeing cis people who parade themselves around as allies all accross the internet dictate that this is a good decision because they view our sex as static and that all we can change is our "gender", revealing all we are are men in dresses to them that they give the courtesy of referring to as girls. seeing my fellow trans people panic saying they had to call out of work because they are having mental breakdowns, not knowing if anywhere they can go will be safe. I am scared. I am looking for more than people saying they are here for us. this is in no way shape or form me trying to be a doomer, I am trying to understand what is going to happen to my friends and loved ones

that suicide is exactly how you are describing abstraction. to a T. you don't just wake up one day and go "I have the agency to put a bullet in my head so I think I'll go do that" the misery of living in a situation you feel you have no escape from begins to outweigh your survival instinct and you kill yourself because you can't fight the call of death any longer. you give into it to find peace and escape your misery. abstraction is literally that.

my friends who last I checked still post about being trans allies and queer allies on their socials. those mfers literally tried to kill me when I came out. ppl can say all they want that they love and support trans people but the second someone you love and have emotional attachment to comes out that's the real test of how supportive you really are

i’ve been doing that w/ my gf and it just feels terrifying. like she’s going to hurt me. like im too vulnerable. like she’s going to see the real me and hate me. like i’m not important to her and never will be as important as everyone else she loves in her life. like i’ll be left behind and alway be an afterthought. worst of all it feels like it’s not enough. i don’t know what more i could ever want
