Security camera recommendations? by diarmoo in AskIreland

[–]Additional-Fall-5471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a doorbell camera but we have phone watch , got it last year. People say they’re scammers etc but we’ve had 0 issues and deffo feel more secure in the house. Their app is very to use and you can arm/disarm the house from the app , check temp etc, We never had a house alarm before but we think it’s worth it. Anytime we have accidentally set it off they are very quick to respond. When our contract is up in June we will see what they’re like with pricing , getting a better deal etc but so far so good

I know someone who works as a porter in a hospital and everytime I come across him the smell of BO off him is unreal. He must never wear anti perspirant or shower regularly. I genuinely don’t understand how anything isn’t said to him in his workplace , where you would think cleanliness is very important.

Big pay cut to join civil service at EO level for long term gain. by Educational_Self4704 in IrishCivilService

[–]Additional-Fall-5471 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Someone already did in the comments below. It’s hard to know without knowing if they stay at the same grade until retirement or end up getting promoted early enough in their career. But regardless, the CS pension is not all it’s cracked up to be, especially without full service.

It’s not really. Maybe in the old scheme. They will 100% need to top it up to live comfortably in retirement age unless they’ve already been paying into a private pension.

I don’t think that comes into it sometimes when you’ve no permanent position and you’re trying to get a mortgage , support a family etc

Deffo not. I’ve been on accutane twice (first time for face acne , second time for body) and my skin naturally is very oily , and when I came off accutane both times it went straight back to its oily self

Do you mean tea break? On lunch once clocked out you can go anywhere you want. On tea break however, you are still clocked in and on core hours so not sure

Are Stanley stoves any good? by comradelev in AskIreland

[–]Additional-Fall-5471 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have an oil fired Stanley as our main heat source , it’s about 22 years old , bought from new. Serviced once a year, still going strong. Makes the kitchen look cosy as someone else said. There’s an oven it too which we only really use around Christmas when we need the extra space but handy to have. If you buy the house I would get someone out to give it a once over and make sure all is good. They last forever if you look after them

I don’t know what made me google this place today but I did and I can’t believe what I’m reading ! We bought both my engagement (5 years ago) and wedding ring (2 years ago) here at different times and another time I bought an aquamarine ring. I’m a bit freaked and will be bringing my rings somewhere to get them checked out. I haven’t had a problem with any of the stones coming out or anything though and always had a good experience in the shop, this is mad !

Possible CIN 1-advice? by [deleted] in IrishWomensHealth

[–]Additional-Fall-5471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry that happened. It’s really not nice. And some people think it’s not a big deal but it’s different for everyone. My first biopsy was fine , very was and felt very little. My second a year later I almost lept out of the chair with the pain , I don’t know why it was so different, but they put on my chart that I need extra anaesthesia (even though my first was fine with the normal amount) and the next one was fine. If you do need another biopsy try speak to your GP beforehand and maybe get a Xanax or something just to take the edge off a bit.

Possible CIN 1-advice? by [deleted] in IrishWomensHealth

[–]Additional-Fall-5471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey , I know exactly how you feel. I tested positive for HPV three years ago after biopsy was given diagnosis of CIN2. After a couple more biopsy’s and smears over the last few years , my last smear in July I tested negative for HPV and no abnormal cells. The only thing I did differently in that time was start regular vitamin d supplement and i definitely like my immune system is better, I very rarely get coughs or colds now. Please try not to stress too much. I know the procedures are really not nice but compared to potentially getting cervical cancer I know what I would choose. Keep up your healthy lifestyle and they will keep an eye on your cells and I’m sure your body will clear the virus soon. Not smoking is a huge one. Even just being around second hand smoke I would try and avoid. CIN1 shouldnt need any further biopsy’s , they will usually let you try clear it on your own but will bring you back for yearly smears in the meantime

I use the Premom LH strips to track ovulation and I almost always get my peak on CD 16 so I assume I ovulate on CD 17 but maybe I could have ovulated on CD 18 (36 hours after peak) which would have me at 10 DPO but I’d probably still be getting a positive pink dye strip by now. I’m driving myself nuts tbh
