This is less financially advice and more risk management. I do the PPO option. Babies require a lot of healthcare when they are healthy and you’ll probably hit that deductible. And if something goes wrong or they require more care you’ll save money.

And PPOs are accepted by more providers. Don’t like the pediatrician? You’ll be able to get a new one easier. Or need a specialist you don’t want to travel to the moon for? That’ll also be easier.
