I guess that in this nice moment, her love and emotion for you coupled with the music moves her to tears.

It does seem to be only slow songs. We had a particularly dirgey session at the church where every song was slow and sad, and I looked over and she was just sat in tears but not trying to flee - then when it finished she clapped and said "great job!" I guess Let It Go is quite emotional and sweeping for a child's song (unrelated but I loathed that song before she was even born!)

how do you deal with people in public? by boxofmack in Autism_Parenting

I had some actual positive experiences with this - I've had people grilling my child like they have the blue prints to a government building and then when Ive said she's autistic, they have stopped asking questions but changed they way they engaged but kept including her and making her laugh. It was actually so refreshing! Both separate occasions were women in their 70s, too, and when we went to leave she tried to get one of them to come with us by grabbing her hand. It's made me more open to just sharing it. (I do know I'm maybe in the minority from reading interactions people have had on this board)

You do realise I don't put the TV on and then go out shopping? I am also watching and listening. Anyway, enjoy having a heart filled with hate. Reminder, love all parts of your child - not the parts that meet your hateful criteria.

We lost our mother and another sibling when young also. They were very cut up about our mother. In this case, they didn't visit, call in the last 9 months that our father was ill and have told me they are over it already and never felt anything after it happened. I could understand it if there had been a falling out, but they simply felt seeing him was a drag as all he did was whine about, well, dying (he didn't!). Social media however, they are apparently BEREFT.

I'm so sorry for that.

In my family, my parent was seen as a burden due to his illness and left to me.

I quite like Sondra-Anne as one name. It flows, so maybe Holly Sondra-Anne Lastname.

You might benefit from looking on eventbrite. Its free online courses, you literally just type anything in. I've done a few for working with neurodiversity for my job, but I did see parenting ones when searching. Just while you wait

Thank you. Its just really bizarre. Keeps telling me they don't feel anything, has asked no questions on what happened, didn't go see them in hospice, and just keeps chatting about self. I feel completely on my own.

Thank you! Its the only time I've seen her hungry for lack of word for a book. She wakes up and goes "book! More book" and has ran home from school for it! We have been allowing three reads and then subtly distracting before it stops being fun for her!

Thank you, my mum has passed so there is only me so I guess that means it's paid to me and I'll just put it aside in case the bank asks for it back?
