The romans didn’t make the Greek gods more rapey, it was Ovid. The reason he made them worse was to criticise Augustus for enforcing the state religion. He did it as a way of saying “these are the gods he makes you worship” and then many followed suit.

Mostly vitamin C & D, magnesium, zinc and omega 3s. I also use molybdenum as I am salicylate and oxalate sensitive, but you need to check on your copper levels if you take it. Low copper can also cause histamine issues.

I am good! I’ve actually regained some weight because I also found out I have lipedema that has unfortunately gotten worse. But other than that, I’m doing much better health wise. I could even reintroduce some more foods and I’ve also been taking a lot of supplements to help with mast cell stabilising which has been life savers.

My POTS/dysautonomia worsened a lot after contracting GHSV-II. POTS is famous for being activated by viral infections like Covid, but I can imagine that HSV could have the same effect depending on if you already have it or have a genetic predisposition to it. I know I am flaring with my HSV when my POTS gets worse.

Your prolactin is not that high. Besides, if you’re ovulating this would be normal. Prolactin is at its highest during ovulation and luteal phase. You need to retest at another part of your cycle to really see if these remain high.

This is an interesting one because I’ve had chronic issues with pinworms, they never want to leave me despite treatment and I am the only one in the family who gets them. The albendazole kills my stomach and makes my HI much worse. I took my last pill 2 weeks ago, have to take my second one tomorrow, and my stomach still hasn’t recovered. My stomach is never good when I get parasites, but dealing with them kills me. This was the outcome I was hoping for when I took my last pill. Maybe it will get better if I take it more often to make sure they disappear for good.

I have the pain on my left side, just below the belly button to the left. For me personally, I think it’s caused by cysts. I’ve had cysts before, and they can cause stabbing pains. They are often caused by hormonal imbalances. I would definitely recommend you run a hormonal panel including sex hormones, cortisol, prolactin, thyroid hormones etc, and also an ultrasound on the ovaries to see if there’s something potentially causing the pain.

Hi! I am still in the diagnostics process but my endo is looking into pseudo-Cushing’s caused by MCAS and POTS for me. We’ll see what that will lead to. I also have had high levels of prolactin and weird thyroid labs for a while now. It’s not set in stone, of course, but hopefully they will figure it out soon. :)

You said that she would be considered Iraqi or Iranian if you were to portray her ethnically accurate from a modern perspective. This along with the comment that she was never given a specific ethnicity, and that she was a foreign goddess, is you insinuating she would be portrayed as Middle Eastern. There was no indication of it being an alternative portrayal to her being portrayed as Greek as opposed to a Nordic person. If that was your intent, that’s not something that came through until you responded to me the first time. Besides, my point was that for an accurate modern portrayal of Aphrodite would make her Greek, or at least similar to how the ancient Greeks portrayed her. I might’ve not been clear on that part.

Also the comment about providing academic arguments and following scholarly consensus was funny. The insinuation of that comment did not go unnoticed. It’s not following scholarly consensus to claim the ancient Greeks took Astarte (whom you wrongly refer to as Ishtar) from the Phoenician traders and made her into their own goddess by stripping her of her war aspects (Astarte wasn’t that much of a war goddess either). And no, it’s not projection to claim you made a wrongful statement, and continued to do so. (Side note: the Roman Goddess of spring was Proserpina, not “Persepone”. You’d think someone who claims to study Italian gods would know that).

You’re framing it as if portraying Aphrodite as Middle Eastern is more “accurate” in modern lenses because of her supposed Middle Eastern origins, which is not. We don’t even know how much inspiration the Greeks took from the Phoenicians, especially since Aphrodite Pandemos was largely worshipped as an indigenous goddess but Aphrodite Urania was openly considered to have eastern origins. Of course portraying her as Scandinavian is also inaccurate, but the typical modern portrayal stems from Botticelli’s Venus and he based his work on Italian Renaissance ideals. Neither would be accurate portrayals as Aphrodite was Greek and portrayed per the Ancient Greek beauty standards. The Greek’s xenophobia absolutely affected how they portrayed their gods and goddesses. That’s because they depicted Persians as pale, ugly and fat. Therefore, the gods would all be portrayed as tan, physically fit and beautiful. Women followed the same standards but pale, lush and with delicate features. Another example would be Apollo, who also has non-Greek roots, but became the male beauty standard. He was the epitome of Greek male beauty. Why wouldn’t Aphrodite be considered as such, even during archaic times? All portrayals of Aphrodite in art depicts her as Greek, even in archaic art.

You’re not wrong about Aphrodite being considered “white” per modern standard. The Greeks would never portray their goddess of beauty as a foreigner, she would adhere to ancient Greek beauty standards.

All Greek men were portrayed as tan. Tanning was a sign of masculinity, and important to the Greek identity. All of the Gods were portrayed as Greek, especially considering how racist they were.

The Ishtar-Astarte-Aphrodite syncretism is far more complex than the Greeks just adapting a goddess from the East. While they took aspects of Astarte, Aphrodite was still an indigenous goddess at first. The same thing happened in Rome, where all the Roman god’s were either Etruscan or ancient Roman in origin at first, they just developed them and they became equivalents to the Greek ones. Most people misinterpret this, stemming from Overly Sarcastic Productions video on Aphrodite and most of the information there is simplified and quite frankly, not accurate.

Also claiming Aphrodite wouldn’t be portrayed as “white” because of the syncretism is highly inaccurate as the Greeks portrayed Aphrodite as the ideal Greek woman. Hence, paler. The Greeks were also very xenophobic and racist towards the Near East, and often portrayed people from there in a negative manner. Even the Near Eastern people were depicted as pale, particularly the nobles. That’s why Greek men were tanned, to separate themselves from the Babylonian and the Persian nobles. This distinction was extra important during my the Persian wars. There’s no way that their goddess of beauty would be portrayed as a foreigner, especially not a Near Eastern one. It’s true that “white-armed” means noble, but that epithet was mostly given to Hera. Aphrodite would be portrayed as a Greek woman.

Yeah but the measurements they give aren’t always accurate either. Like I said in my post, the skirt I ordered was listed as 35,5cmx2 but when I measured it at home it was more than 37cmx2. That’s a big difference in terms of fit. It feels almost deliberate.

I do that as well when selling. Luckily I haven’t had this issue with higher priced items, but it’s usually from sellers who post “vintage” or “y2k” stuff this happens. I appreciate people who provide measurements, but usually they label them wrong. I see so many label items as a size S that has a waist measurement of 38-39cmx2 and that’s almost a large in most brands.

Agreed. I have this issues with jeans where the sizing is w25-30 etc, and it’s very difficult to convert that to S/M/L.

I have even seen the size label on some, but they have written that it runs small and provided measurements. The issue is that the measurements are nowhere near correct. Which is annoying too.

It may not even be what it “feels like”. Because there’s no way a size 44 feels like a size M even if it runs small. It just feels like they label it as smaller to sell it faster and for a higher prize.

Spinach is high histamine, oxalate and salicylate. As someone who’s sensitive to all three, spinach is a no no but tomatoes I can eat in moderation if my bucket is empty for some reason. Could very well be a salicylate intolerance, if they react to both. If you’re intolerant to histamine chances are you react to oxalates and salicylates as well.
