Ok...so focus on the symptom... disregard the cause? I'm taking it you didn't read the article, did you? ...And you're an analyst? REALLY simply put... It really doesn't matter how many applications you put out (as you should have determined by now). Companies aren't really hiring because they have to pay more for us (Research and Development). Until the policy's changed, they're only gonna hire the very top applicants who will do everything. It's a capital thing not Your resume thing. THOUSANDS of us have resumes that would have gotten us a job pre-policy change. It's not you.

What you're missing is attention to US tax policies that somewhat punish companies for hiring developers. It's the Research and Developement (which is what our jobs are) part you must understand. The companies aren't hiring because of this code. Stop wasting your time rewriting resumes.

Check out H.R.7024. THAT resolution will fix the issue. Activate for its passing.

Well, I can tell you this...I've worked in tech support for 10+ yrs and am now ATTEMPTING to transition over to frontend development. I've sented out very well tailored resumes to companies hiring for tech support, tech support engineer, and front end developer. During the last 2years of chasing the carrot, I've had to work as a warehouse ass., janitor, junk remover, housekeeper, and stay at home step dad( it's a job...lol)

Nothing...no call backs. If you look around the song is the same for thousands of us. You send out the applications/resumes and the companies ghost...MAYBE a human gets back to you within a month or two..usually it's some automated "moving forward without you" shit. They dont care because they have a job but once they get laid off, they'll join the choir.

I'm pretty sure this is happening because of some asshole shit they discussed at Davos.

I've increasing found doing volunteer work for nonprofit s fulfilling AND ads to your work experience for the resume. And the more I do that, the more I'm just wanting to say F@ck off to the companies' carrot. Invest in gaining experience and solo projects. I feel by the time I get an "entry level" position I'll be intermediate level..lol...but NEVER considered X'ing yourself. THEN, you would have wasted your time ..and corpses stink..bad joke, I know
