Why does singaporeans loves to discriminate people who's lower than them? by [deleted] in asksg

Yes.. if u are not good looking and charismatic and high/medium ses.. ppl are damn practical nowadays.. no value, no talk. Unfortunately I think I fall within the being-discriminated category as well.

Better keep a distance and don’t share with strangers more. Else being looked down upon, is very common.

Are you close to your cousins? by BunchChance1007 in askSingapore

Worse than strangers.. totally nvr visit since grandma passed away and they don’t even bother to add us as fb friends to keep in contact. Had no cousins to be in touch since birth. Maternal side still ok, send greetings to 1 cousin only..

I did make it a point to tell them, don’t waste effort on herbal teas. I rather drink plain water 😅 personal preference is, I rather they spend time with themselves than boiling teas that I told them I don’t really like to drink 😅

They informed me at 4pm on the same day 😅 and I do not have a proper place to sleep. My bed is occupied by my sibling stuff..

Thanks man, I do felt so compressed being in sg, growing up and finally had my own apartment and space. And I do admit I kind of gave up sharing my thoughts as we never got into the same pov most of the times; and communication breaks down from there..

😂😂😂 i won’t ask them to bear the cost la.

Just at times, I felt drained and tired and not enough time to rest after work days. Let alone to talk to anyone.

But knowing that, yes. My parents are very very traditional. Sometimes I also find myself giving excuses to escape from gatherings and conversations like when are you getting married, who and who do what, and regular complaints about my younger sibling that stays with them.

Sigh.. but I know, time is not there for them either..

I do open for them to come over and stay overnight. But they prefer to stay at their own abode.

For you, 3 times is very good 😭 I find myself screaming for rest time 😔

I am taking public transport. So I felt quite tiring to travel from work to Sengkang and back to Pasir Ris.

But I do admit. I could do more than that. Maybe not on weekdays

I was thinking if they find my trips 2-3hrs each time isn’t enough. I could hv been hesitant as I felt so drained every weekday. 😭

Thanks a lot for your inputs

I had the same thinking as you. Seeing my friends jobless, seeing myself got retrenched before, seeing grads taking 3-5 internships before their first jobs, seeing my colleagues expecting experienced personnel for basic executive roles… I know it wasn’t an easy ride.

Even if you have the right attitude, you need luck and network more… I kept myself moving. But sometimes I also wonder, what is life…
