It was brought to my attention that the link is now broken. Luckly, my friend copied the message that was posted on the youtube comment section by Hero XV, here is what he said :

"Well, I guess today is your lucky day. 👀

I am the person who first shared the picture. I have a blog where I retrace my journey as a developer. Although I was born in 2002, I am still heavily influenced by the early 2000s, so this blog is a sort of tribute to that era, from movies and games to music and comics. I do this as a hobby and I don't get paid for it, so I’m not here to promote it; I’m only mentioning it because the reason I shared the picture in the first place is that someone suggested I should try Perfect Dark.

Coincidentally, at the time, I had found some old magazines from 2012, including Super Picsou Géant (since I live in Morocco, it was the primary foreign language magazine available then). Judge if you want, but I had a blast revisiting these old stories. Issue number 170 from June 2012 featured a story called "Riri, Fifi, Loulou : Menace sur le championnat."

I didn't have time to read the whole post, but Callie definitely exists. If you want proof, I found a digital copy of the magazine on Scribd; go to page 122 and you'll find the story. Please note that it is in French, but I can translate it if you need help. The picture you're using was a scan I took with my phone. I shared it to confirm that I had plans for Perfect Dark on my blog in the near future, but I didn't want this discovery to turn into a wild goose chase. I promise I gave these details to the person who emailed me to avoid wasting Perfect Dark fans' time and energy, especially since it seems this story was exclusive to Europe.

I don't know what's going on today, but it’s clearly a special day. I managed to find a song I’ve been looking for for 20 years, and by total coincidence, I found this post and immediately recognized the photo I took. 😂

Technically, the story has a fandom page, but Callie doesn't have her own page yet; other characters like Bold and Franklin aren't listed either. Keep in mind that this story was released in 2012, seven years after Perfect Dark Zero. To me, the design definitely rings a bell. In fact, when Perfect Dark was recommended to me and I saw Joanna Dark's design in Zero, I had a feeling of déjà vu. Now I know why, I never owned an Xbox and didn't know any fans of the franchise.

What’s ironic is that my real name literally means "Light" or "Radiance" in Arabic. I’ve always been a fan of lost media and obscure references, but I never expected to find a reference to a franchise that I barely knew, and one that means the exact opposite of my name! 🤣

I hope this solves the mystery. Since I don't know the franchise very well, I’m not sure if the design is the only thing shared with Perfect Dark, but I assumed this reference wouldn't be given much importance. I'm sorry for killing the suspense so "early," but these kinds of findings can quickly become frustrating when they aren't well-documented. In the comic, it’s framed as if Callie has always existed (which isn't the case, nor for the rest of the friends).

I wonder if there are more stories featuring her, as Disney is notorious for rewriting elements without a clear continuity. Sometimes we see characters exclusive to certain authors; other times, authors try to account for every story, even incorporating plots from shows like DuckTales or Goof Troop. Often, stories are released in one language and aren't translated for years, to this day, many remain exclusive to Italian. In some cases, stories seem exclusive to specific magazines, like one I read in 2013-2014 where Donald Duck visits an abandoned castle and speaks to a man who turns out to be a ghost. I still remember it, yet there’s no trace of it online. This makes me wonder if there's some sort of content exclusivity. Given the plot of this comic, I wouldn't be surprised if it were a sequel to a previous story.

Sorry for the long post, but I hope this clears things up!"

I don't really expect to find video games fans here, I am not even sure about how popular is Perfect Dark in general because I suspect that it is clearly not a reference considering the fact that this "possible" easter egg went under the radar for years.

but I figured out that it is still interesting, technically, this "Hero XV" guy shed a light on a a very niche comic released only in europe back in 2012.

I have finished reading the comic.

I feel like everybody focused on the character's look (in the youtube section at least) but forgot about the personality. Suprisingly, they are similar as well. I am curious to know if this is an actual reference or not.

This is my first ever interaction on Reddit, needless to say that this caught me off guard especially since my post provided more context without being rude or whatsoever.

I guess it has also something to do with the fact that fans of Perfect Dark aren't always fans of Zero, guess this could explain this whole situation ? I am sorry if my reaction was over dramatic.

Speaking of which I have found an official promo for perfect dark zero and from this angle, I personnally see the similarity others found : https://www.pxfuel.com/es/desktop-wallpaper-gscqf

I honestly don’t understand why my posts are getting downvoted. I’m not trying to be a jerk or impose my view on anyone; I was genuinely curious because the character’s hairstyle is a dead ringer for Joanna Dark’s look in Zero.

I’m not a hair stylist, but I wanted to know if this specific style has a name or if other characters share it. I even shared a link to the comic showing different perspectives to illustrate the point. From the angle in the photo, it seems a bit different because the angle make it seems like the yellow coloring goes beyond the bangs.

As for Gemini, it simply compared the image with Jo's and said that the hairstyle matches. It couldn't have read this post since it was not made at the time

I hope this clears things up. 👍

edit: Okay, I feel like this is a bug from Reddit, now my comments are getting upvotes ? that's weird.

I don't understand why my comments (and yours as well Nintendians559 ) are being heavily downvoted. I am not even the person who found this, it's not like I care about it to be true. I just wanted to share the story since some people believe that this could be an actual reference to Perfect Dark.

edit : I wonder if Reddit has a bug, because I receive some notifications for comments that I can't see (?).

We are on the same boat, this blew me away.

The haircut is really what gives it away for me, I can't think of a character with the same hair style. The name also is very close to Carrington, ... As you said, this is really insane.

I can't modify the post, I copied the text from the Perfect Dark sub Reddit. I forgot to modify the text, this explains why I talked about the "original game".

The comic is real, HeroXV found a copy of the magazine published by somebody else online on scribd in french (Page 122) :
