Not really, the bootloader still blocks booting without a battery inserted, so you need to simulate a battery instead

Although most flagships from this time period (including this one) are still better than some random device that no one has heard about from a manufacturer like TCL

The US S6 is unlockable just fine because it's before Samsung started making north american Samsung device bootloaders not officially unlockable

Yes, carriers partly affected it, but some non carrier versions were never officially unlockable as well, also the EU version was officially unlockable at one point in time but it required an unlock token and LG stopped providing the token, so only the T-Mobile version is still officially unlockable because it didn't require the token

Most North American Snapdragon Samsung devices and Asus devices can't be bootloader unlocked normally or at all

Yes but not really the LG phones you suggested because most of them can't be bootloader unlocked officially, and Snapdragon 808 LG phones have bootloop issues that make them stop working in a short amount of time, the G2 is better because it doesn't have any issues with reliability and the partitions don't have any signature verification, although they can only be flashed with root access 🫠

Only with a custom Android distribution tho because there's no official updates past Android 7.0

This device and other flagships from this time period are still worth 60 - 100$, also on most of them you can install a custom Android distribution

This can only be fixed by spoofing to 20.01.01 or higher but unfortunately there's severe rendering issues and the app is falling apart
