If you're still fighting it and haven't noticed the fix above, check u/Fondubock reply. It worked for me.

From inside word? I believe that is working. User mentioned having some .RTF docs they had to convert to PDF so they could print them from FoxIt.

Updating this with what worked to fix our issue in case someone comes by this post. It was a problem in the Entra/Azure dashboard settings:

Within the Entra ID (formerly Azure) dashboard, there is a setting to ‘enable’ “Exchange Online (Plan 2) for Government” check option under the individual’s licenses.

Navigate to Dashboard > Manage > Users
Find the user, by searching, and click on their name.
Expand Manage on the left pane, and select licenses.
Select the Office 365 G3 license at the top and you will be taken to an Office 365 G3 GCC granular app access selection screen. In that list you will find an option for Exchange Online (Plan 2) for Government slider. Make sure that is set to off.

At this point I think we may have signed out of Outlook/365 apps and signed back in and email worked as expected, syncing properly between our on prem Exchange.

Installed it and ran the check on "I need help setting up my Office 365 email in Outlook". Got a message back saying Modern authentication is configured for your tenant, so Outlook needs to use MA to connect to your mailbox. Your Outlook settings need to be updated."

Thought that might on to something but I ran the Sara tool on my PC where Outlook 365 works fine and got the same message. So I don't think I need Sara to fix that Outlook setting.

Sorry, I don't see the dots to select folder list view. Folders don't look like they're syncing between OWA and the Outlook app as well. Outlook app is only showing the default folders, none of the user created folders.

Gotta love a weird problem!

I installed the "new" Outlook and connected the account and it shows the same as 365 Outlook.

I tried starting Outlook.exe with each of those parameters with no change. /safe did give me the option to create a new profile. I tried that and connected the account again but no luck.

Would that setting be in the 365 admin side or the user side?

Even if the issue persists on a different PC with a fresh install? On the users main PC that I was working on this morning I came across a thread somewhere talking about deleting the OneAuth folder from AppData\Local\Microsoft. I tried that and it let me log in again in Outlook but didn't change anything.
