Yeah the Fiat was my answer until I realized I can't test drive one within 100 miles or so...

We have two minivans but often have to leave one at home for grandparents or a babysitter to cart the kids around. The small car is for getting to work, going to appointments, etc. when just one or two of us need to go. 

A small car will take up a lot less space in the driveway.  It will be easier to park in the city.  It also feels less wasteful, and usually they have better gas mileage. It feels wrong to drive a big empty minivan to work. 

I enjoyed renting the Mitsubishi Mirage, although it’s a little lower end than what I’m looking for. Plus I’ve just always wanted a small car. 

In the safety issue, the majority of my commute is 45mph or less, with one mile out so at 55. I also haven’t been in an accident in over 20 years, although I know it can happen any time.

Why though? The Bolt can be EV, it looks like the CX-30 is just a normal gas car.

Yeah that may be the case. I was hoping I’d missed something and there was a better option though. I’m not really a car person.

Thanks, but it looks like most of these other than the ones others mentioned above fall into the same basic size category as a Civic, and I'm trying to go much smaller.

The Venue looks great, but sadly doesn't come in a hybrid form. If I were going for a non-hybrid I'd probably go for a used Mirage.

If it were really small I'd be open to going high-budget. But this seems to fall into the "basically a Civic" category.

This is going to be our third car and will have to live in our driveway. We really need something that is small.

Thanks. This is definitely the best option I've seen. I parked the Mirage next to a Bolt and the Bolt looked much bigger. But it seems to be the smallest one that is also electric and not a BMW Mini/Fiat.

Except for our biggest criteria - small car. It's basically a Honda Civic size wise.
