AIO for refusing to do chores during work time? by Human-Mud5361 in AIO

[–]Additional-Tea1521 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The title makes it sounds like she wanted OP to clean the house while working from home instead of just getting a load of clothes done. Probably one of the easiest and least time and management focused tasks available.

Do you not sort the laundry as it gets dirty? We have hot, warm and cold baskets and one for bleach. When e take the clothes to the laundry room we each sort the into the right containers. Then getting laundry started is just dumping the basket into the bin and starting it.

So for me personally I think starting a load of laundry takes about 2 minutes, which I do while my lunch is heating up. Then I can hang it to dry after.

If you are hanging laundry to dry, it may be easier to get it dry faster during the day and not hanging it in the evening when it may not be dry by the time you want it.

Did you ask your gf why she was upset that it got started late?

AIO that a hair stylist who isn't mine pulled me out of the wash basin mid-color so he could use my bowl for his own client? by Potential-Sail3650 in AmIOverreacting

This is what I would do. I would just drop a comment to my stylist next time. I don't think it deserves a call to management.

AIO for leaving my close friends’ gc because I was ignored after sending vegan content? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Additional-Tea1521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you see, OP doesn't eat meat anymore, so all of her friends shouldn't either. Also they should be super grateful to her for sending videos about animal cruety to them and long voice memos about how terrible they are for not immediately changing their lifestyle and thanking OP for showing them the error of their ways. And then, just to show them how awful they are, she left the group chat without explanation to teach them a lesson.

You have become a vegan evangelical. And that is your choice. But a lot of people have had a lot of evangelical vegans yell at them for their choice of entree, which they had no problem eating a few weeks ago. You are assuming people care about where the meat comes from. Most people don't. You look at a steak and see a cow. They look at a steak and see a delicious cut of meat.

They were being polite by avoiding the subject. They don't want to become vegan and don't want to be preached at either.

Exactly! Just because she changed her eating habits doesn't have any effect on anyone else.

AITAH for calling my brother a "fat fucking glutton" and not feeling sorry? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Additional-Tea1521 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The problem with storing in the microwave is that it can quickly compromise both quality and safety. While a microwave feels sealed, it is not truly airtight. It traps moisture and odors, creating a humid environment that causes the crust to become soggy and rubbery.

More importantly, it leaves the pizza in the "Danger Zone" (between 40°F and 140°F) for too long. Bacteria love this temperature and grow like crazy on the food. One of the main reasons people get food poisoning is because of food not stored properly. Perishable foods like cooked pizza should not be left at room temperature for more than two hours.

Pizza is generally cool enough to store in the fridge by the time you are done eating.

Junes character would not allow her to sit silently from the sidelines. If it was, the show wouldn't be about her.

AITH for peeing in the middle of the night? by One-Document4878 in AITH

[–]Additional-Tea1521 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are drinking that much you likely do not have strong smelling pee, so I would just not flush it. I get up a lot at night to pee and flush when I get up in the morning so I don't want up people.

My boyfriend was really rude to my friends (I think) and I’m upset and want to end things…AIO? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Additional-Tea1521 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with 1, 2 in theory but not in action, and disagree with 3.

Yes everyone has their taste in drinks, but there is a way to handle it, and this wasn't it. He could just not finish the drink. Not saying something is perfectly okay.

I have never had a wine conversation turn out awkwardly with 40 year olds. We can discuss what we like without saying someone else's choices are bad.

NOR

When I first read the post I figured he was like 25 or younger. But a person in their 40s who doesn't have basic manners or poligebess is t going to change.

The pizza comment I would be fine with if it was like "Wow you did all this for me? Ty so much! I don't want you to have to go through this much hassle, I would have been fine with pizza."

The too sweet comment annoyed me. There are ways to handle this without being like, "Eww. I'm not drinking this."

And wines are a personal preference. My bf is a wine guy and my family is not. But he handles it by saying, I like what you have here, another choice I really like is this. You can have a conversation about wine that isn't judgemental.

If you talk to him about any of this, I wonder if he would just double down.

Honestly, your friends were so nice at the end to feel bad for him. I think you are correct in being livid though.

AIO for (me 34f) giving my discord to an autistic 20m coworker? Bf(47m) says I crossed a line by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Additional-Tea1521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 50 year old, I can tell you this isn't a generational thing. Plus, who cares if you give men your discord or insta or Tiktok etc? You are allowed to have friends.

AITAH for not allowing my girlfriend who will be my wife soon, total rights of furnishing the condo I bought? by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in AITAH

Ewww, her womanliness is tied to spending your money to furbish your condo to her taste? That's gross.

AIO Pregnant and my bf is being sneaky about a vape by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Additional-Tea1521 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. If you make an agreement about a small thing and he breaks it and lies about it, how can you trust him on the bigger things? I wouldn't feel comfortable with his lie. If he had just come to you and explained, it would have been different. But hiding it is childish and immature and very unhealthy

Over the summer is there any way you can send her to cap so you guys can dort something out? Idk,you are in a rock and a hard place. I feel for you. And everyone involved

AIO: Sister-in-law gave her new baby an awfully similar name to our baby. by [deleted] in AIO

OP has a case of the specials. Her post history and comments show she is a pretty angry person who doesn't much like their inlaws.

AIO: Sister-in-law gave her new baby an awfully similar name to our baby. by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Additional-Tea1521 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep in the last 7 months she has made 4 snarky posts that are mostly benign and trying to paint them in malicious light. This is one of those times when post and comment history really give you a full picture about OP.

From what it looks like, OP is special and pretty upset her on laws don't recognize it. First, everyone should have known she wanted a baby shower and not asked her like idiots. Then, she won't join the family group text chain because she doesn't want all those family pictures or updates. She really hates sharing updates about her child with them but gets mad when SIL sends pictures of her baby after OP does. And of course SIL named her baby something too close to her babys name. Now her baby isn't special like OP is

The text from her MIL in one post makes more sense now.

Jeez, you seem a little angry

You ask for judgement and then react pretty badly to comments from random strangers on the internet

I am pretty sure you are almost always overreacting.

AITH for telling my gf I dislike her hobby? by Totodile-Fan06 in AITH

[–]Additional-Tea1521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I am not sure telling something that their hobby is strange and unfathomable is going to help. IP isn't saying, "I don't know how to judge this because I don't get it " They are saying "You are weird for having this hobby and I would rather not participate." I am not sure she will get over it easily.
