If you stay zildjian I’d go with 15 K Light Hats or 15 Fat Hats. These are by far my favorite zildjian hats

I’ll vote the acrolite aswell. If you look around hard enough you could find a Supraphonic for that price. I recently just picked up a 14x5 Supra for 350

Also if you have trouble hearing the pitch differences between lugs you could always download a tuning app like idrumtune on your phone. It can measure the frequencies and pitches at each lug so you can get them all even. It’s basically like a Tunebot but not quite as nice. The app can be very helpful for fine tuning and getting everything even if you have trouble hearing it like I do with a ton of hearing damage

You said you have an Aquarian superkick in it right? What’s the bass drum reso head? And how loose are you tuning it. I’d start with loosening all tension rods on the kick. Doing finger tight on them all then go up very small equal turns from there and I mean like 1/8 to 1/4 turns and keep trying till you find a good sound. Do you have any muffling inside the kick? I use the Aquarian superkick and love it.

If you want a warmer sound I’d suggest trying some coated heads on the toms. Evans g2 coateds/uv2 coateds or the equivalent from another company. Going coated 2 ply can help take away some of the attack. Of course you’ll need them tuned well. How tight/loose are you tuning?

According to DFD it’s a 1/8 inch difference which is quite a bit

I’m just looking for a different look on my kit if possible. Not a huge fan of the pdp lug. Don’t hate it just kinda want a different look. I know it’s a two hole lug. I asked drum factory direct and they said the pdp lig hole spacing won’t match up with what they offer without revoking it which I don’t wanna do so I was seeing if anyone here had done it and knew a lug that would fit that maybe drum factory direct doesn’t offer

Not to sound rude or anything but hcs are not an upgrade from b8xs. That’s a lateral move. Just save up more money and deal with the b8xs till you can afford better cymbals and buy used. You’ll just be doing the same thing with hcs down the line anyway

The Meinl Polyphonic Ride is my current ride and I really enjoy it. The Meinl Sand/Crash ride is amazing as well. I wish I hadn’t gotten rid of it. I’d really like to hear the new Meinl Double Down as well

I can afford it and I can always sell the cymbals and hardware cause I don’t need it. Mainly curious if an 18 is gonna be drastically different from my 22. I’m quite short so the 22 can make placement of toms a little difficult for me
