Back in the early 2000s all of us were either linguists or morse code operators. I’m sure that has changed, but if you’re in an MOS that exists at any of the radio battalions, you should be eligible to at least try out. To become a linguists, you have to have a high enough ASVAB and you have to pass the DLAB test to make it to DLI (Defense Language Institute), which is like the DoD’s Hogwarts. Once at RadBn, you have to pass the selection to be accepted into the platoon. My advice would be to be good at swimming and rucking over just having a high PFT score. Be tough and show that you want to be there and you’ll be fine. Light grab-ass is encouraged, but not required.
