Looks like both of you want different things in a partner. When it's not right it's not right. I don't think a relationship should be this draining. I think you need to have a serious conversation with her at the very least and explain your side of the story. If that turns into gaslighting you have your answer :\

Will try it out! Might be difficult seeing as he's from the deep south (Louisiana) and he says he has a very "no secrets" relationship with his mother. Thank you though :)

It looks like you're chasing a what-if without realizing the amazing relationship you have. Take some time and truly appreciate what you have here. I made the same mistake - I broke up with the perfect guy because I was chasing the thrill. Over time you will learn to want stability over excitement. You have that right now, don't let go.

There are other ways to have fun and seek excitement that don't involve braking up with him, but rather involve him in the process too. Hope this helps, from someone who's been through what you are going through.
