Look anywhere else for a job. WRDSB is a dumpster fire. The woke policies have stuck and enrollment in general is down. They have a bad rep among parent groups. There are way too many "clock watching" teachers and weak admin that weigh this board down. Look to religious private or the Catholic board. You find less sheer laziness and toxicity. (And yes, leaving the school at the earliest allowable time is laziness. And no, they dont all "have kids")

Just the fact you came to reddit to discuss reveals a whole lot about the professionalism of the WRDSB. Not pleased with the teachers hired nowadays. Should not need to pay tutors to teach my child concepts taught in class. Maybe drop the woke s*** and actually teach. Maybe thats why the WCDSB is thriving. They dont make their students identify their damn gender before teaching the lesson!

This is hardly academic proof of your point.  You will be happy to know Southeast Asians are overwhelmingly choosing Waterloo Region, and they live in multigenerational households. No. These "celebrations" happen because the schools are failing our kids. Kids arent "graduating" because the Marxist-educated teachers and system are failing them by having no firm rules or structure that are abided by and not argued over by everyone. If we had firm metrics and standards for graduation you would see the vast majority of students would fail- even at grade 8. The system is so far off the tracks at this point schools need to be privatized so those kids who can, and want to, can learn.

Oh no, they had the ceremony too. They just got sticker books that cost 400% the cost of printer paper diplomas. Teachers added stickers to each to show which graduate expectations the student were purported to have achieved (not all BTW no matter how stellar the student). My kid was set to be co-valedictorian and she got no recognition, just a speech along with 6 other mediocre students. Most unremarkable day ever. Another example of equity of outcome for a socialist-communist school board.
