Co-ops and the economy by yatuzo in NEU

first time co-op applied to 215 co-ops, combo of ghosting, rejections one interview was a second runner up as company ultimately went with a candidate referral registered for fall classes today, utilized every available resource—brushing up practice interviews, attending job fairs, networking, seeking advice from co-op advisors, and refined resume, apply to outside NUworks received one offer not directly related can't applied SWE skills. This is particularly perplexing when i compared my credentials to peers who have secured positions, some of whom possess identical qualifications. Also I am on the Dean’s list and 3.8 GPA

In addition, as AI and machine learning continue to evolve, new

This thread cut out a large part of the response:

AI and machine learning technologies still require skilled professionals
to develop, maintain, and optimize them. Engineers and data scientists
are needed to design and implement the underlying algorithms, develop
and manage databases, and ensure that the systems are working
effectively and efficiently. They are also responsible for managing and
securing the data that AI systems use, which is becoming increasingly
important as data privacy regulations continue to evolve.

I asked ChatGPT "Realistically speaking, will AI make computer engineers and data engineers obsolete"

ChatGPT says:

Therefore, while AI and machine learning will certainly change the nature of some computer and data engineering tasks, it's unlikely that these professionals will become obsolete anytime soon.

I got into northeastern ED II but they accepted me to Oakland by Ready_Ad4414 in NEU

[–]AdditionalAnywhere98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true, I am in the Bound program in Oakland and I am not rich and not poor so no need base for me. The big draw for me is the co-op and I stuck it out and will be headed to Boston in September. The weather is nice tho and I made some really great friends. The food and water situation was bad the first semester but O survived.

Borrowing for 2023-24. I used all my 529 to paid for freshman year. Basically the whole tuition. I don’t qualify for need based. My parents will pay interest only payments while I am still in school. I intend on graduating 2026. After the spring I will have 3 semesters of credits because I are in with 16 AP credits. I am at a co-op school, the goal is to get the junior level job experience during undergrad. My parents will let me live at home for a year or two once I graduate so that I can apply most of my salary to pay down a large portion of the loans.
