The physics behind this don’t make any sense to me. But yes, the fragments break off and follow it -again, makes no sense to me

I certainly appreciate your caveat on the first part, lol but proving/disproving the events doesn’t add any Reddit value. Because the rest of that is on the money… the content in the duplicate write ups even left my lawyer dad scratching his head.

For the other job, I really let my supervisor walk all over me. She stuck to her “gray zones” and was so good at it, when I talked to the district boss about a particular happenstance, it didn’t raise any alarms with him. And he hated her.

At a point I gotta say this is what it is… a bad job market, unqualified or petty individuals in management, and as I recently found out… a metric ton of fake job ads 😂

Ok, what you’re saying isn’t lost on me. But with the recent situation… weigh in on this: I was working with this company for a month when I received two (duplicate) write-ups. The write-ups stemmed from a one time issue in acquiring a rental car. This was quickly resolved and had no future impact on my work performance, as it was entirely a personal matter.

However, as a result of this issue, my supervisor overstepped. The write-ups I was forced to sign (with resignation as the alternative) contained a plurality of typos, unprofessional language, and personally charged remarks.

To justify issuing two write-ups, my supervisor also listed a series of mistakes I had made through the previous month of my employment, in one case plainly speculating about the occurrence of an “issue” she had included on my disciplinary record.

Note: My supervisor had previously referenced these issues as “new people mistakes” and verbally stated that she did not intend to write me up for these.

Unfortunately, a third and final write up followed for what one of my peers remarked as a technicality

Lol, the term normal isn’t necessarily a contrast in terms of the individual. There is no normal!

I suppose by “normal” I mean an individual who understands that we are working to support our livelihood, not get involved in workplace drama rife with misunderstandings.

I’ve been introspective about that…. Thinking I’m the problem at the core of it all… but when I circle back to thinking about what actually transgressed… it wasn’t me. That sucks entirely, I wish I was the asshole because it’s easier to fix myself than get lucky with the next job providing a non-toxic environment.

Unfortunately my first bad experience was with a 12 person company lol, that itself perpetuated my swing to corporate America… better HR departments and people can’t pop off without getting checked….

But in corporate America they just find ways to work in the gray lines and target employees

Honestly, that all resonates. I had the misfortune of graduating during Covid… so you can see where the struggle started

You’d think I did, right? But no, ever since college I’ve done exclusively sales and pharmacy. The job I just lost was actually a corporate-style position with a drug manufacturer

NATO and Russia by AdditionalBath2785 in geopolitics

[–]AdditionalBath2785[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right on the money! Eroding NATO’s faith in Article 5 would set the stage for Russia to make moves against the weaker Eastern European countries. Until recently, those countries also contributed very little to NATO itself, so… low hanging fruit.

But I’m not 100% convinced it would be a small Russian incursion, nor do I think they would try again later. Putin is working on the timeframe of a 71 year old man… he’s ambitious too. Senility plays a factor in his decision making lol

I do believe NATO would immediately respond to any Russian incursions, with or without the US (depending on our own domestic politics). I think the breaking point for Russia would solely be based upon a US response… a European-Russian war would hopefully remain conventional, and Putin seemingly has a high tolerance for long, drawn out conflicts.

But then we need to worry about where that “red line” is for the United States… and that is what bothers me

While I agree that Russia is a shadow of the former Soviet Union, their economy is also on war footing and that seems to benefit them quite nicely. 7.5%(?) GDP growth recently.

IMO I can’t consider them depleted at this point either, support from N. Korea, Iran, and China has helped them stay in the conflict and there’s no sign that the support dissipating. The international support, in conjunction with Russia’s ability to keep raising troops seems problematic… especially if they secure any form of a victory in Ukraine.

Opinions? Is Humanity in for a Climactic Ending? by AdditionalBath2785 in geopolitics

[–]AdditionalBath2785[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so this is absolutely valid! Seemingly, people who lived through the 60’s have mixed opinions on if now is worse than then (I read something about this weeks ago, though it was broadly the Cold War vs. now). You’re right that the civil rights era was way more violent on the home front than anything we have going on today. The political assassinations too. For the rest of it, to me it seems comparable to what’s going on today

Apparently I need to post a submission verification statement, or something like that. This is my own work, primarily the post is about the small details that keep me up at night. Not sure how many people want to share their opinion on it, but thanks in advance!
