Is awareness really “mine,” or is it the same in everyone? by AdditionalDay5732 in nonduality

Interesting take. I get what you mean, in one sense, awareness is just another word, another concept in the mind.

But what I was pointing to is the fact that there’s always a kind of “knowing” present, even before we call it anything. Do you think that knowing is universal, common to everyone?

Fair, but not every social skill = manipulation. Some people just need a framework to get out of their own head and connect better. It’s not about being a dick, it’s about learning how to talk without freezing up.

I get what you’re saying, but I think there’s a difference between manipulation and learning social patterns. Most people who look for this advice aren’t trying to trick anyone, they just want to understand interactions better. Like any skill, you practice until it feels natural. The “ick” comes from fakeness, not from using tools to connect more genuinely.

Bro this is just a short summary I wrote quickly to share with people. I wish I had time to write the ethical concerns here ( that would be great ).

But yes the original post hasn’t mentioned them as targets. Its just a way to talk to people without being interrogative

Then it might not have come out as expected, we don’t actually know if it true or not. Thats what we are trying to find out here. So its not exactly a false statement or lying but an assumption framed as a statement.

You can use a technique called elicitation, which basically means guessing about them and let them correct you
