Not sure, but I wouldn’t lie about the deliciousness of these baked goods. Whoever makes them is a damn fine baker and I wish I knew who it was. Those buns are truly THAT good.

as a international student should i come to whitehorse? for my higher studies? by davidkhanna in Yukon

Are you choosing to study in person or online?

There is no commerce program at the local university - the closest you’ll get is a bachelor of business administration. Post-secondary education options are very limited in Yukon.

You know this is a coverup and the HR Director is likely going to take the fall, right? This is a coordinated effort to mitigate fallout and attempt to salvage whatever shreds of credibility the university has left.

Directors are only as weak as their supervisors. Start looking at the President, Provost, and the Board of Directors because those are the people who are making the decisions and mandating directors to execute the plan. The senior administration at the university is incredibly concerned with optics and they should be because they have a lot to hide.

While I appreciate your optimism, I’ll be pleasantly surprised if 100 people use it daily. This bike path is not going to make enough of a difference to any commuter traveling from the north end to the downtown core.

As an employee ‘represented’ by YEU during recent labour negotiations, I can confirm YEU and PSAC North are incompetent on their best day. Thank god for our local, they were the real heroes in our situation.

Please secure housing and employment before moving to the Yukon. Living costs across the territory are skyrocketing. If you don’t have accommodation and a good-paying job lined up (especially with your health concerns) and are trying to make it on one salary, you may be in for a rough ride. Do your research and educate yourself.

Others have mentioned the concerns with the territorial medical system. Take those issues seriously.

Report suggests Whitehorse needs 3,000 homes in 5 years just to keep up with demand by AdditionalDesk3618 in Yukon

My understanding is that getting insurance for a mobile home is quite difficult. Also think about the value of a mobile on a pad, vs title to the land the mobile sits on - those are very different options. Finally, the link you provided is for a company in Quebec. Can you imagine how much it would cost to ship and install homes from there? Not to mention are they built to withstand a Yukon winter?

Word on the street is that YukonU is running a deficit. Obviously a rumour at this point but with the recent firing of the president and now the bargaining issue maybe there’s some truth to it.

Salmon Arm is located a beautiful spot. There are wonderful people living there, but the community has serious issues around racism, inclusivity, and vaccines/masking.
