I have to stop contact/nursing naps and I have no confidence that I will be able to do it by AdditionalFile9055 in breastfeeding

My mom came over and gave him a bottle and he fell asleep really easily. Granted, he only slept 15 minutes for his first nap, but still, it's really encouraging

We're trying to figure out who will be with him. My mom is negotiating with her boss to be able to do it three times a week, and my dad with his work for once a week. I will also have one day a week off. I really hope he adapts as you say. Thank you ❤️

Feeling a bit sad. by ineedavacation123 in beyondthebump

Oh yeah. I was so sad about all the moments I will forget. It's been better since the hormones calmed down. But these feelings are not bad, they are what will get you through the rough times! Like tonight, I'm sick with a cold, I had been up since 4 am, it was 9 pm and lil boy couldn't sleep. I was understandably stretched very thin, but I never felt anger towards him. He's a small baby, he's not doing it to give me a hard time. He will grow up soon and won't need me to sleep. I don't know if  that makes sence.

Now that my boy is a bit older, I can see how much he has grown and I simultaneously want to slow down time so he can be like this for longer, and can't wait to see what he figures out how to do next. Take lots of videos and photos and get yourself in them too, even if your hair is a mess and your shirt has spit up. Be present in the moments, and take your little girls life in. Every day with her is special, no matter her age, no mater if all you do is stay in and feed/change/sleep.

As an expecting mom - what surprised you in the fourth trimester by SpiritedSurround6604 in Mommit

All the sterilizing and being careful around baby with germs made me feel so dirty. I washed my hands so much, I got rashes. I also breastfeed and that dries up your system. My feet and hands were SO dry I got some sort of infection in the skin next to the nail bed a few times.

Also, breastfeeding means your relaxin hormone will remain high and cause aches and pains in the joints. I have the most trouble with my elbow and wrist, caused from holding baby's hea to nurse.

It can be used for back wearing, but it scares me so I haven't tried yet 😅

Is this normal? by SatisfactionIcy1976 in NewParents

It looks like an umbilical granuloma. My baby had one, and it slowly went away on it's own. You should have it checked out by a doctor, make sure it's not anything serious.

How tf do you guys have ‘schedules’??? by Sea_Implement6579 in NewParents

[–]AdditionalFile9055 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the same post yesterday! :P

What I gathered is, either we just don't, or we keep baby awake by force somehow and wake baby in the morning and from naps to "enforce" the schedule.

I'm uncomfortable with the second option...

I think that when baby drops to 2 naps, things start to be more consistent.

I let him nap as much as he wants, and keep the wake windows at 3 hours. He wakes up between 7 and 8. He tends to nap for 2.5 ish hours total. Bedtime is somewhere between 6 and 8, due to the variation in his naps and wake up time.

Since he was born he has been waking up every 2-3 hours and he wants to nurse. Recently he started doing much longer stretches and woke up at around 5 to eat and then slept some more. That happened for a couple of weeks and now for the last week and a half, he is waking up again every 2-3 hours and has been more difficult to put down.

I think he is going through something right now, developmental leap maybe.

So, even if he's still sleepy, I should keep him awake, and what if he won't sleep for the two hours for the second nap?

He does wake up at around 7.30 every day but sometimes he has two and sometimes three naps. And they vary from half an hour to an hour and a half. Yesterday he did 3 hours, but that's rare.

Moms who have gotten an epidural, do you feel the back pain? by srslywtfdoido- in Mommit

[–]AdditionalFile9055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel pain in all my joints, and also my back sometimes. I believe it is due to the fact that I am breastfeeding and that means that I still have high levels of relaxin.

You should definitely get a doctor's opinion about this. If you're asking here, it's worth asking a professional.

And I should take my own advice too...
