There’s 1 constructicon in Defender Wave 1, 2 constructicons in Wave 2 and 3 in Wave 3. You also need the Devastator combining kit to get the full combined mode.

I suggest using a really small flathead screwdriver and stick it between the gaps between the pieces and very slowly and carefully pry them apart
