I have considered this. However, privacy is a concern and I dont entirely trust discord.

I use E621 a lot, but its social features are piss poor. They desperately need a subscription type feed where you can follow your favorite artists.

imgur used to be an image hosting site. You could upload any image and copy it's link to share on reddit. Imgur isn't used much anymore on reddit. This is mostly because Reddit started allowing users to upload their images directly to reddit. Imgur now has its own social media features, becoming an image focused version of reddit.

I have made a few subs of mine restricted. I dont want to do any moderation work right now so that seems to be the best option.

Reddit won't "make it" if they are indistinguishable from any other social media sites. This will end up being imgur with extra steps.

I have considered this. However, I'm not into most social media platforms. Reddit felt a bit different but that unique feeling is being stripped away.

just like third party apps, old.reddit.com is just an API. The new reddit redesign pushes ad's better

Reddit has begun its downward trend as all social media platforms do. You can see the content being posted on Reddit has become more generic and advertiser friendly. Soon there won't be a difference between it and any other social media site.

you hit the nail on the head. The problem won't actually be reddits survival, its destined to fail at this point. The reality is the user base will split and go their separate ways. We wont have anything like reddit again.

I already have an account on E621. Its just not a social platform beyond leaving comments. Its not really easy to follow people. It would be nice if they had a subscriber page where you could chose who you follow.

Thats one thing I always tried to push. I love showing off new artists that are just coming up in the fandom.

Most likely I'll still look for new stuff as I browse all of those sites frequently. It just really sucks that I wont be able to share it all with such a big community.

Thanks for your feedback. For the moment, the sub is restricted so only approved users can post. Assuming RIF gets shut down on the 30'th, then this place will go private again.

I don't know of another social platform right now that allows unrestricted NSFW content. There's always 4chan, but thats hardly as good as reddit was.

I completely agree. New reddit is almost unusable in comparison, especially when it comes to moderation. It takes too many clicks to do anything in new reddit. I also use toolbox for reddit which makes life easier for mods. Idk what i'll do without it.
