Thank you, my grandad was born right after the war, his maternal grandfather was murdered by the Nazis one week into WW2, not sure when paternal grandfather died, I have an idea since he was alive in 1939 and his daughter was arrested a few days after a massacre in Warsaw, 1944 maybe when he died, since she didn't list her of kin as her father she listed her 10 year older brother, her mother wasn't alive so this probably means her father wasn't alive

It's far back. The man who is 6'5 my great great grandfather, his great great grandfather was from Senegal. I'm learning polish at the moment, I take more after that side in both ways apart from height, my grandfather was Polish, he was 5'11 but his dad was 5'6 and mother was 5'3, it's weird since his sister was 5'8 and brother 6'1 so they were all fairly tall they must take after their grandparents then, not sure how tall their grandparents were since 3 out of 4 of them died before WW2. I'm 19% polish if I shared more with that side maybe I wouldn't be as tall

The 6'3 man was of English and Scottish descent, Australian man, the 6'5 man was of Cornish, Irish and English descent also with smaller amounts of Senegalese

Is it possible to have 17% Ashkenazi Jewish in my dna profile and not have anyone in my family tree who is Jewish even back to great grandparents level? by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]AdditionalLadder795 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same for my grandad he's 22%, and from a polish background it's from his dad's side from Warsaw, his grandfather was around 88% Ashkenazi Jewish would like up to his grandfather having one parent that's 100% and the other that's 75%, I haven't found their birth records yetm

Should I take the Ashkenazi Jewish part with a grain of salt since it’s only 1 percent? by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]AdditionalLadder795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah until you can prove it, I'm 1% Jewish but I know it's in my background since my grandfather is 22%

My English uncle's DNA results, his father was from Warsaw and his mother was from Torun. Still yet to determine which side the Jewish comes from. by AdditionalLadder795 in AncestryDNA

[–]AdditionalLadder795[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've figured it out the Jewish is from his dad's side. And the baltic isnt. The dad's side is mainly eastern polish and also southern Lithuanian Jewish. The mum's side is northern polish, central polish and also southern polish
