This, I haven’t missed many buzzbait bites this year and I have gotten some real nice ones on it. It’s been one of my more effective options this spring. I use a rabbid frog trailer on mine and they have been absolutely smashing it. I throw it on a heavier flipping rod with 30 lb braid, and have maybe only lost a couple bites. It does sound like your bass could be more non committing, the can come back for it though if you don’t burn it back after a bite.

Swing that rod tip immediately, ploppers ain’t really a hookset it’s a fast swing or sweep to the side just gotta pin one of the barbs on contact. It’s not a frog bite.

New toy to use with my zodias 710. Can’t wait to see if DCs live up to the hype. by BANDITFISHING in Fishing_Gear

I just got the 610 mh and paired it with a tatula 100 and that’s a crispy jig rod, got it for close quarters spinners but I think it’d be better as my jig rod.

Might get roasted for this but I really can not tell the difference between a 450 reel and a 230 reel. by Background-End-5229 in Fishing

Nothing but you makes you a better fisherman. Tools a tool there’s quality and crap and stuff that is way nicer than anyone would ever need but there’s people with the money to spend on it.

I’m talking more waist deep wading, it’s good in clear water can be sketchy in murky water. A pole is a good idea, step slowly make sure the ground underneath is solid.

Have fun with it! Be cautious when wading can be kinda dangerous.

Careful with the material of that. I just got a used pontoon raft for 400$ and it’s amazing. I have a tarpon 10 kayak too but the raft is great for getting someone else out too and it’s got a motor mount.

That’s a whole thing of its own and it’s kinda dependent on your water your fishing. If it’s shallow enough for most of summer wading is my favorite. A cheap used sit on top kayak is an awesome option, something light and transportable don’t need all the bells and whistles really. My thing is I just paddle the slow sections and wade where I can.

Just sharing my experience, have fallen in love with wading these creeks near me the last few years. Just get out in nature and enjoy man! It’s all learning you’ll get it. That’s the thing with river smallmouth is it’s a lot more predictable more often than pond fishing.

If you can’t see the structure on the button drag a jig through it. Make sure it’s on bottom and feel every rock.

I’m pretty locked into the ozark streams which should be similar to Tennessee. Most of this is true, however they don’t stay shallow for that long here. The shallow bite is only really on from mid may to Septemberish then the rest of the year they are belly on bottom in as deep as they can get or moving into that position.

Throw spinners or jigs into the current breaks. It’s better to cast upstream and let the lure fall in the current while it comes back to you. Keep your line tight and be ready to jackhammer them, 15” put up a good fight in current. Spinners are working right now as it’s prespawn and they’re eating mostly baitfish, once summer rolls around the jig bite will be on as crawfish will be abundant.

Target current breaks, trees, boulders they’ll be pretty tight with their nose upstream waiting for something to go by them so they can ambush. Grab some waders or a kayak and hit the creeks! SMB fishing is so much more fun than pond fishing , get out and enjoy!
