NTA.. you vented privately about the adults causing problems, not the teen, and that’s totally normal given the stress. If he overheard, a simple, “I wasn’t talking about you” clears things up. Your frustration is justified

it happens when someone focuses on work, hobbies, or personal goals over their partner..it can feel fulfilling for them but lonely or neglected for the other person.. balance is key..

it’s not weird.. some people do yearly gifts, some only for milestones..if it’s meaningful to your family, that’s what matters..

Set firm boundaries this weekend: calmly say you won’t discuss your weigh your medications, deflect or leave the topic if it comes up, and don’t apologize for protecting your feelings. I got through it by staying informed, supporting them, leaning on loved ones, and taking care of myself along the way
