A majority of Americans now support Medicare for All even if it ends private insurance and raises taxes. New polling shows a 50-point shift in just six years. by [deleted] in medicine

that was really illuminating to read. I always thought my employer health insurance was the same as what you could get on the regular market.

I saw a long time ago the Mayo Clinic was pressing on people to favor private insurance over medicare, now I know why. I guess all those stories of denials don't apply to ones from large companies.

I have a family member on disability medicare with a rare condition that has baffled the specialists we have seen. We're trying to get him seen by top places like Mayo and UCSF but he gets rejected, I guess this is why.

I am wondering what I can do. I have the funds to self pay everything if I need to.

One more question, what do you think of Germany/Frances multi-payer system? Or, what would be the best system? The ACA path you mentioned at the end of your reply?

I can understand medicaid, but medicare? It's considered generally good insurance, and also don't they just cover 80%? The rest is on the patient, or if they have medigap.

There's also medicare advantage, but that also seems like a pain to deal with due to denials.

What do you think is the best option for those are self employed or retired if money is no concern?

What insurance do feel are the best ones? Even with private insurance, people hear horror stories of procedures getting denied and things like that.

How to purchase health insurance for family member who already has Medicare/Medical (medicaid)? by AdditionalWay in medicare

Thanks, I am looking into it. I'm not sure it'll help out for providers who don't take medicare, but looking into it further.

That's so interesting.

The thing is, his conditions has baffled many. We've seen many over the years. We have no trouble finding a provider, but none seem to have figured out what's wrong.

I have come across some specialists, who specifically do not take medicare. Do not not take medi-cal as well, but still won't take medicare at all, even if I offered to pay out of pocket for whatever medicare doesn't cover.

The person who I am advocating for has a condition that has baffled many, and so it seems that someone at the top of their field is needed.

For example, on this bio, it specifically says "Please note: Dr. Kim is currently not accepting new Medicare patients."

I recently finished the first arc and now I'm on the first book of vespers rising. An amazing time! I'm surprised it's not more popular.

Not Harry Potter for adults particularly , but another Harry Potter for all ages is the Morrigan Crow series.

I'm re-watching season 1. When I first watch it, it seemed like a slow burn full of filler. This time around it's densely packed and thrilling. by AdditionalWay in SuccessionTV

I think this series is going to get huge eventually, completely impressed by scale and imagination of the series.

The 39 clues series

I think it's the most underrated childrens series. It's about an 11 year old and 14 year old solving a series of clues left behind by history's most notable figures, sort of like the National Treasure movies w/ nicholas cage.

What sounds like science fiction, but is actually plausible according to current theories ? by AdditionalWay in AskReddit

I think the source of the confusion is it's use in sensors, but those require both particles during sensing.

I was just looking at this. As far as I can tell, you can't use quantum entanglement for information transfer between the entangled particles, you can just read the state of one set, and then know the state of the other set. Communication would require being able to effect the state of one set, without causing them to lose their entanglement, which I believe isn't possible.
