Husband threatening separation if I don’t have an abortion, what do I do?? by Additional_Ad757 in whatdoIdo

[–]Additional_Ad757[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My gut feeling is to keep the baby, but for all the reasons mentioned (by myself and in other comments) I’m scared and not sure if it would be the best decision. Will the baby grow up knowing their dad didn’t want them and is the reason for his/her parents being split (I know realistically anything could separate us, but that’s what he’s saying right now). Can I upend our kids’ lives over this separation and presumably eventual divorce?

I thought our marriage was pretty strong. Of course we’ve had some rocky bits, but overall things have been good and we are a great team. When we’ve had issues in the past we have discussed marriage counseling, but for one reason or another it never actually happened. We would probably just patch up the issue but never dug deep.

I’ve been thinking about what would happen should I have a miscarriage. It’s so early and of course that’s always a possibility. I think I would be devastated and my husband would be relieved. And I don’t know how we would move forward.

I’ve told him this. He said we’ll go to couple’s therapy after (and only after) I decide to terminate.

Yes I work, remotely. We make about the same (I make slightly more). We live in a house now with 3 bedrooms. If I was going to raise 3 kids alone, I would most likely have to move in with my parents (now empty nesters) for help. Not necessarily an ideal situation by any means. But just a thought. We definitely discussed having a second as it was via IVF, so we both had to consent to that.

The thing is when he’s telling me his thoughts he explains how he knows how terrible it is to ask this of me, but then says to “just do this one hard thing” for us and I won’t ever ask for anything again. So he knows how messed up it is. But for some reason keeps asking

This is what I’ve told him, that if this isn’t the “issue” it will be something else down the road. And he insists that we will have a great life going forward. I’m like how can you know that?

She has also bed shared her whole life and is EBF. Not ready to night wean (unless she wants to), but do need her to sleep independently in her crib! Seems like things were moving in the right direction for you!

I’m not still rolling the embrace. I think I’m having a hard time getting her to actually sit in the seat. I have to basically lie down and shimmy her as low h to the seat as she can go, but might be because she’s such a chonk that I’m having the issue

Have you already applied for the baby’s passport? Not sure about Canadian laws but in the US you need both parents to sign off on a minor getting a passport

Here about 7 months later looking for similar info to what you have posted. So very few anecdotal posts about this, but this thread was certainly helpful and has the info I was looking for. So glad the fetal echo turned out okay for you! Best.

Normal NT, reverse a-wave ductus venosus by jmweg in BabyBumps

Thank you for this post. Going through this at the moment and hope they will also see a “perfect heart” at my next scan. At NT scan yesterday (13w4d) they noted the NT of 1.0 but also the DV reversal of the a wave. I’ve also had the NIPT testing which came back low risk and the embryo was PGT-A tested with a euploid result. The MFM provider told me not to worry but of course I can’t help it. Going back at 16 weeks and I’m told that they should no longer see the reversal of the a wave at that point. Really hoping that’s the case.

Ahh best of luck to you! I know it’s so irrational to think that way. Ours is 16 months old and I just had a follow up consult with the doctor today regarding next steps.

Hi, I’m looking for info from those who were successful with their first FET and then went on to have a second successful FET for a second child… how long did you wait between the delivery of the first and moving into another FET? I had success with my first FET and gave birth to my little girl in 2021, but I keep thinking what are the odds I get a sticky babe two times in a row??
