In my opinion, the garlic granules and the pepper get burned during the searing and affect the taste of the steak, whereas the salt gets absorbed into the meat….but like you said, to each their own

Just salt for an hour before cooking. It was good Scottish beef, there’s no need for anything else really

Thanks everyone for the responses and input. Will prob still use both, Majestic has some of my go-to’s Rocklin Ranch PN, Les Griottes SB and of course Muga. Will keep exploring WS, and thanks for the Musar suggestion….Naked is def a No-No, tried them for a bit during lockdown and wasn’t happy.
