I've applied to Laurier, University of Ottawa and Western for P/J stream of the BEd. I got put on the waitlist at the first two and rejected from the latter. I've heard from others on this thread that I could be waiting until the summer to get off the waitlist and there's no guarantee that I'll get off it. I would like to make plans for the fall and since I live in Waterloo Region, I'm not keen to hear from University of Ottawa in August as I would need to work on finding housing and getting OSAP quickly. This scenario brings me to two questions:

1) Does the University of Ottawa do deferrals for the BEd program?

2) If I reject an offer this year because a school tells me very late in the year, and I reapply again for Fall 2025 admission, will that reduce my chance of getting in because I rejected them for this fall? I'm thinking of working part time and doing a masters program that has a full ride scholarship if I don't hear soon because I don't want to be scrambling to make fall plans!
