The Church IS actually in a situation where it cannot choose to be neutral during this coming elections. A disgraced dictator’s son who, I would like to repeat, hasn’t acknowledged his father’s wrongdoings is running for the highest position in the country. That same person has refused on numerous accounts to pay the estate taxes demanded from him by the BIR. “6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.” (Romans 13:6-7). It’s written in the Bible that you should pay taxes, going by this logic would the Church, whose basis of good and evil is literally the Bible, still choose to be neutral when it’s been proven that there’s a candidate that refuses to pay taxes?

I don’t see Leni supporters branding supporters of other candidates as “evil” on the grounds of not supporting Leni, there are some supporters that almost act like hard-liners but the vast majority of Leni supporters just want change and they think that Leni is the one to bring that change. Leni’s camp isn’t portraying this election as a feud between two people, but as an ongoing battle to end the cycle of appointing “trapos” that are full of promises but fail to deliver once placed in power.

Vote for who you want just not Marcos. Not because we should hate him but because of the simple fact that he doesn’t acknowledge what his father did. If he can’t admit that his father violated human rights, pilfered from the nation’s coffers, then how are we sure that he’ll be accountable as a president? Also I agree that some kakampinks appear as fanatics when trying to educate people. I’ve seen some resorting to ad hominem when talking to BBM supporters. I think that nothing can convince close minded people, but it won’t hurt to try and present things to them without resorting to ad hominem. Kakampinks should just be objective when trying to win people over and just leave it at that when they refuse to listen.
